Choose the people around you wisely
nursejb replied to life_after_gastric_bypass's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
God bless life_after_gastric_bypass I truly agree with everything you said in your post.Through your words and pain you are ministering to us all who are in the trenches of trying to win against this struggle and epidemic of obesity! I am aa healthcare provider I will have surgery this month, I see many beautiful people come into the hospital and are so sick because of food! obesity is truly a disease we have to fight everyday for our health. You are an inspiration I'm sure your friend was proud of you and now God bless his soul he is resting in peace. -

Birth control?
nursejb replied to sageandcoyesmommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same question a a nurse and a patient I asked my surgeon should I stop taking my birth control pills my surgeon told me that I should not stop taking the birth control pills just because of the clot risk. He said that there is more risk of getting pregnant within the first year which can be life threatening. So I listened to him for about 2 second I may not be a fixture but IM a nurse o made a personal decision to stop taking them and will resume them our some -

That's ridiculous you wasted all that time with them I'm sorry that happened to you. They told me about the fee at my first appointment so I never went back. -

Prescribed Post Op Meals?
nursejb replied to Chris10's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Chris I wasn't sure if I was going to share this with you but I went to that same doctor in the beginning and the reason why I didn't choose to stick with their program is because of that 4 grand fee. it seems exorbitant and like they are taking advantage of people who are looking for help losing weight. I felt if the few was legitimate then why wouldn't the insurance company pay for it, when they are willing to pay for the 20,000 dollar surgery. that made me leery of the dockers office. many other doctors offices that are also centers of excellence don't require a play surgery meal plan and educational fee if 4000 dollars. I know that there is something called care credit ago you may want to look into that it's like a line of credit that you can take out to help pay that fee. -
