I got that call too before surgery and it was to let me know my Vitamin D was so low that I had to take a prescription 50,000 unit once a week for 8 weeks. It did not postpone my surgery but I did start it a few weeks before.

And it only gets better from there!!!

Jerky....I did have a few times for the protein...it was fine as long as I chewed it to mush. But...the last time I tried it, it got stuck, I was miserable and finally puked it up after an hour or so. I have not tried it since then and do not know if I will. It is dry and tough, 2 things not agreeable to our bitty pouches. I have found that a Slim Jim once in a blue moon was agreeable and caused me no issues. I did peel off the 'paper' from the outside of it. Not that I would eat them a lot, but I have had a couple. Not sure if this would agree with everyone, as our pouches are all different, but for mine, it was okay.

Excited this morning. Got on the scale and I have lost 66 lbs and have 58 to go to reach my goal. I have lost more than I have left to lose. Here's to hoping the next 16 weeks will be as successful as the first 16. -

We went to Cracker Barrel and I had the spicy grilled catfish. It was awesome. Also fit in a few bites of green beans. I will definitely order that again. -
This is great! I also have a goal to reach by my birthday, 10-20 .Although it is not my 30th birthday (been there done that), I still would like to achieve this milestone by then. I so desperately want to be under 200. That gives me 14 weeks to lose 38 pounds. Oct.2 will be my 6 month surgiversary so losing 100 lbs in that amount of time has been done by so many people on here, I hope I can join those ranks.

We can occasionnally use milk of magnesia also...that helps me in a day usually. I have noticed that eating two or three greek yogurts a day helps to keep me going.

Yay on the weight loss.....nay on the hair loss! I feel your pain...my hair is falling out bad. I wish I lost as much weight as you...that is awesome. I've only lost 54. :-( -
I am so looking forward to seeing my collar bones!!! Not quite there, but can't wait!!

I am 12 weeks out and mine started about 2 to 3 weeks ago. After I shampoo my hair and brush it, quite a bit comes out. I am constantly finding stray hairs on my clothes. I try not to mess with it too much once I have it brushed (thinking that it will lessen the loss-lol). Hoping this phase does not last too awful long.

Steak n Shake Chili is my dinner tonight. -
I did that early on but was because ny blood pressure was too low from my hbp medicine. Went off it and was major improvement. Make sure you are well hydrated as well.

I have taken it on occasion. But my 5 yr old daughter has taken it regularly for over a year. Her pediatrician says it can not hurt her. She has always had potty issues. So I don't mind using it. Being uncomfortable from constipation is not pleasant at all, so I try to take this in the evening if I had an unproductive (potty) day so I can get relief the next day.

Beautiful! I love quilts! I have a couple of my grandmothers flannel nightgowns (she passed away a few years ago) and I was wanting to cut them up and make a quilt out of them. I need to get started on that. -

Wow that is amazing. Hope it's smooth sailing from here on out for you. -
Me too! So uncomfortable most days because nothing is moving. Last week it took 2 days doses of 4 tsp of milk of magnesia to even get a little relief. This week trying miralax daily to see if it will help.

OK, any new clothes I have bought so far were from ebay or goodwill but I had a discount coupon and a $5 and a $10 coupon for my local Kohls store. I stopped in there today and I got an $80 pair of white Rock & Republic jeans (with embellished pockets on the back) for $8.00. I was so excited i just had to share. Now I am so excited to get down at least one more size so I can actually wear them. It will be motivation for me. I will just have to get a cute top to wear with them and some cute heels. That was all i got myself, but my 5 yr old daughter scored some awesome cute clothes for kindergarten!!!!

Anyone 5'10-6' tall?
kjrny2013 replied to heather200202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Being 5'9" my goal is 170-175. I was a size 10/11 last time I was that small. Big boned, wide shoulders and hips here too. I would not be upset if I end up at 160-165 though. Who knows, maybe I will end up at the low end of the charts for my height. -

So..... I was finally able to finish a greek yogurt today. They always taste bitter to me. It was Chobani coconut with toasted almonds and dark chocolate chips. It was awesome! Found it at Wal-Mart. I am going to get some more ASAP! -
When I got my first prescription for them my insurance was the same...but it just took a phone call. So I got approved for up to 30 each month for 12 months.

how fast is the weight loss?

To be honest...I still wear some of them baggy. I work from home so it's not a big deal what I wear. I suffer from what my family calls 'noassatall'! lol. For some reason it seems I lose weight in my butt first. So I do try to have at least a couple of pants or capris that actually fit for the times we go out as a family. The baggy pants are not the least bit attractive. I have not given the bigger clothes away yet. Not sure if I am going to donate or sell and make a few bucks to put towards new clothes.
