You made a great choice not getting the lap band. I had it for 19 months which was a complete nightmare. I had revision surgery on April 25 and had bypass done. A 3+ hour surgery took 6+ hours because of all the scar tissue that had to be removed due to the lap band. I ended with 1/3 of my stomach cut out and the bypass.

I had my revision on April 25th. I have more new incisions that it looks like Swiss cheese. I had so much scar tissue from the band that he had no choice. The surgeon had to cut 1/3 of my stomach to clean up the scars. So I ended up with a mini sleeve and RNY.

I was extremely nervous about being in the hospital which actually was a good experience. I was lucky and recovered very well. I made sure I was drinking and making sure I was going to the bathroom and doing a lot of walking around the floor.

Just to let you know, they put it in when you go under for surgery but they feel they need to yank it out of you with no anesthesia. It felt like I was stabbed with a knife

I had the lap band in 2011 and removed it 2012. I just had RNY surgery on April 25. I am very fortunate to have a good recovery experience. So far I am down 40+ lbs which is more than I lost -
I also work for a bank and the first 2 days are difficult until I wAs comfortable sitting. I had pain on my left side and had to get up quite frequently.

I learned that the hard way. I always keep forgetting not to drink when I eat. What a terrible feeling!!

Bring a pillow to hold against your stomach. You may feel every bump on the way home.
