i think just sent an add invite. I am not good with technology. Got it! -
Hi guys! I'm hoping to get clearance for exercise on 8/1. I've always loved the water and hope to find a water aerobics class soon. But for someone who is not a fan of exercising; where should I start? Are there programs for beginners? If I get a trainer are they going to yell at me? This whole thing makes me the most nervous. Thanks C

Hey PittGuy! So I'm three days from being 1 month postop! I have my first postop visit on 8/1. I'm feeling really good. I'm hungry for different food than I'm allowed but hopefully I'll get clearance to start puréed foods on 8/1. I'm walking at least a mile a day. And since surgery I've lost about 20 lbs. But from my highest weight in March I've lost 29 lbs. I'm happy with that considering I haven't had much energy to really do anything until about the last week. I did have a scrambled egg yesterday morning for bfast. It was delicious! But, I couldn't eat anything the rest of the day! I did finally get a little popcorn down last night. But that's it. I also thing I have some other things going on on my body like hormone regulation for my cycle that's throwing things off a bit. But I'm getting there. Hoping to get released to return to the pool on 8/1 as well. I've missed the water and want to return to my water aerobics. So other than that; I'm looking forward to new foods and returning to the pool. Glad to hear you're doing well! C -
Best of luck! You'll be great

Two weeks post op...

I'm not even on puréed yet! I have to be on "full liquids" for 4 weeks postop. Then I get to start puréed for 4 weeks. So...right now I'm thinking puréed anything is better than cream soups, cream of wheat, instant potatoes and baby food! Hahah! Looking forward to puréed fajitas :-) LOL! -

I guess that's a good attitude to have but if I had woken to an irreversible surgery I didn't sign up for I'd be pissed! Best of luck with your sleeve! I hope it works wonderfully for you! Get better soon!
-
Wow! Did you sign papers for him to do a different procedure than what you signed up for? If not, that seems a bit fraudulent. I would gather most docs would have sewed you back up and made you wait until the liver shrank. I'm kinda shocked. I bet you were to!

Best of luck! See you on the losers bench!

Hey Pittguy! So I'm now 12 days postop and feeling really great! I will say I still have some minor nagging pain in my lower left abdomen muscle (prob where they had to manhandle my lap band out) and, of course, my energy is not 100% but I'm doing well. I feel best in the morning so that when I try to get everything done so wear myself out. Usually by 3pm my shot for a couple hours but I never recoup the same momentum I have in the mornings. I'm sure at some point this will get better. For now I'm doing my best to get three Protein shakes, all the fluids, the Vitamins and 3 2oz meals in a day. I'm usually about missing one shake and about 20oz of Fluid....but I'm getting there. I'm walking about 1.5 miles throughout the day (not at once). In the first 10 days after surgery I've lost 15lbs! So I'm pleased and pray that I maintain the momentum and continue to gain energy :-). -
I've lost 15 lbs in 10 days post surgery! Hope I keep this momentum :-). Feeling good!

It seems like every evening around 5 till about 10pm I'm freezing! Why is this happening? Thanks Chris

Before surgery I was on a diabetic pill called Onglyza and two different insulins. One (Apedra) a fast acting insulin I took 20 units per meal and a long lasting insulin (Lantus) that I took 95 units each night at bed. I am now 9 days post op and I haven't had any of those medications since I left the hospital! PTL!! I go on Tuesday to meet with my pcp and I'm hoping to come off the Crestor and Lisinipril. I'm very very happy how things are going! -

I'm officially one week postop today! I'm feeling pretty good other than a stabbing pain in my bottom left abdomen that I can't seem to shake. I'm not getting all my fluids and protein in yet but I've gotten more in today than I have yet. Emotionally I'm poor to fair; physically I think I'm doing pretty darn good! My post op follow up is not until 8/1. But I am seeing my pcp next Tuesday bc I haven't taken insulin since I left the hospital except the first night and my BS dropped to 45. No more insulin already!! :-). So I continue to walk, sip, nibble and nap. I do feel like I'm more than able to handle puréed foods already. But they have me on the full liquid diet for 4 weeks! I'm sick of cream of wheat and applesauce! :-).
