Tooth put after surgery ...
elli'smommy replied to jp23p's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yuck! That has to be horrible! Bless your heart! -
You can buy a lot of adult toys from amazon.com as well. Ships discreet and you don't have to look at anyone while your picking your toys!

I too am an insulin depended type 2 diabetic. I take Lantus 100 units at night and 3 shots of Apedra ranging from 5-22 units per meal. I also take a pill called onglyza. I really would love to see me skinny (bc I can not remember ever a time that skinny was me) but my major goal is to lose all this medication! Best of luck to you on your journey!

Curious questions about Meds
elli'smommy replied to elli'smommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
such as? -
hmmm....that's interesting. No one has mentioned this as a possibility to me and he's aware of our past failed infertility treatments. Guess I better be bringing this up the next time I meet with them on 5/10. Thanks
-
I see there's a lot of talk here about birth control. Did your doctors require you to use a BC option or is this your choice? I've got a long history of infertility issues (our daughter is adopted) and have never really needed BC. I did take Ortho for a couple months when I was about 19 to try and regulate my period but they made me sick and I stopped using them. I've never been regular since. Just curious.

Mom Using Scare Tactics to Stop Surgery!
elli'smommy replied to crmills74's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any chance you have a sister or a best friend who would be willing to be your support person pre and postOp? I know it's not the same as a mom but if shes stressing you out and bringing you down then that's not good for you emotionally, physically or psychologically. My bariatric center offers support groups three times a month. Some are specific for pre or post Op. Maybe you could pair up with someone there to be each other's support net? Hope you find peace and someone you can trust soon. peace -

Hi there! I'm new to the site as well! Sounds like you've taken the time to research and know what you want. I've been approved by insurance, had my revision class, my PreOp tests are 5/10 and my healthy and physical clearance is 5/14. After that Ill get my surgery date and 6 hr class dates. Then it's off to the races!! Looking forward to connecting and supporting you through this journey! Welcome! -
Mom Using Scare Tactics to Stop Surgery!
elli'smommy replied to crmills74's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted the RNY 4 years ago but my mom and husband was so against it I went with the lap band. 8 months out the doc assistants that did the fills ruptured my band. Now....4 years later...and 2.5 year old daughter to worry about...Im facing surgery. Im a little bitter. Now everyone is on board and thinks it's great that Im having RNY! Im like, I wish you had felt that way 4 years ago! I would not be sitting where I am now! I will not be talked out of it this time! -
Amazing job! Keep up the hard work! You look fab!

I have a 2.5 year old daughter. I'm already very sensitive and anxious about having surgery and possibly dying. Every time I think about the possibility that I might die during surgery and leaving her alone, I breakdown. So my question is this; did you have your young children with you at the hospital before you went in for surgery? How did you explain a 2-3 day stay at the hospital to them? I have never left her for any length of time nor has she ever been away from me at night. My parents (along with my husband) are coming to help care for her and take care of me post surgery so I'm not to concerned with her being taken care of...just the whole surgery and three day hospital stay. Sorry if this seems like rambling. I'm having trouble getting my thoughts together around this.

I wanna know stories!
elli'smommy replied to askinnyme1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sparklette How long did your surgery wind up taking? Did everything go as they wanted? Did they tell you who big or little they were able to make your pouch? BTW, welcome home! Hope youre feeling well! -
Good morning Sparklette! If you don't mind me asking: are you diabetic? If so, how has it been regulating the insulin post surgery? Im guessing that's why I will have to stay at the hospital 2-3 days. Because I am diabetic and I wonder how hard it's going to be adjusting my insulin. Im hoping to never need it again...but I fear hypoglycemia!

That's awesome! You don't have to stay 2-3 days? That's great! Glad you are doing well. Rest now and get to walking !

I got a letter from the Bariatric center today with my Pre-op tests date (5/10/13) and my final History and Medical exam (5/14/13) scheduled! Looks like they are wasting no time in getting me on track to my new life! I'm feeling pretty excited and optimistic today After these two dates; all that's left is the 6 hour pre-surgery class and then a surgery date! Im sure that at some point Ill be really scared again...but for now Im super excited! xo

In some of the preop info I got in my revision class it list's Starbucks as a no no for at least a year! I sooo hate that bc Im a huge fan of their coffee and teas. I even love their decaf coffee but apparently that's not acceptable either. Anyone else have this?
