My name is Cindy and I had my surgery on April 9th 2013. I actually started the process a couple years before this date. I got discouraged because it took so long and then I had talked to someone who told me not to be so hard on myself. I followed the rules, except for losing the pre weight, and the next thing you know they gave me a surgery date. It might have been earlier if I had known they weren't going to be so strict on the pre weight loss.
I am two weeks from surgery date and go to see my doctor for the first time since surgery on Wed. (today is Monday). He should ok me for pureed food, unfortunately I will tell him that I have been tolerating non-fat cottage cheese and an occasional scrambled egg. I feel fine. I have not had any problems so far. I am wondering if I am that different from everyone else? I stayed on liquids for almost the full two weeks and started pureed before I was ok'd. I seem still be losing weight and eat a healthy diet of broth, carnation instant breakfast and sugar free popsicles. As far as the egg and cottage cheese, I only occasionally eat them when I feel very hungry.
I want to know if the reason for holding off of pureed food until you see your doctor is because of surgery complications? Has anyone else been thru this?
