    Any NC peeps?

In Greensboro.4/15/13 DOS 430; Current 360. I am tracking about 1000 calories a day but have struggled to lose over the past 2 months. Going back to simpler options to see if that kick starts.

I used to hate vanilla then figured out with a couple squirts of mio it's like a smoothie. Now I just do vanilla and flavor it like that

44 yr old male 1 1/2 yr Post Op

I walk 3 times a day at about 20 minutes per. I can't do more than that at a time due to spinal issues. I have tracked my food...every day and am eating between 1000 and 1100 calories. I am now about 4.5 months post op and have gone from 430 to 360 with only about 10lbs lost in the last 30+ days. I know exactly what I'm eating but still have no clue why I'm not losing more. My diet is mostly protein shakes and vegetarian protein sources. It seems almost impossible that I am not losing at only 1000 calories which is what my nut has recommended.

Hey, I'm 44 and was 430 pre surgery on 4/15 so about three months out. I'm at about 370 now and I'm struggling with being stuck here for almost a month. I was losing almost a pound a day for the first 60 days then after a small gain, pretty much a lb a week loss. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong to suddenly stop losing this soon. I didn't expect to keep losing a lb a day but a lb a week? Am I eating too much? Not getting enough liquids? I'm pretty clueless as to what to change right now, or is this common?
  6. I'm puzzled by the fact that at 2 months out and 60lbs lost, I suddenly gain 5 lbs in 2 days?? Eating no differently but I have been getting in more water. But 5lbs?
  7. OK so surgery at 430lbs (highest preweight was 475) on 4/15/13. I've lost 45lb in the first 45 days. Lately I'm wondering if regular food is worth the effort. Does anyone else struggle with going through the process of preparing a meal only to find you eat 3 bites and can't stand the sight of left overs? Not to mention if I don't eat slowly enough then bleh and no WAY I'm eating any more of it? I'd rather just do protein shakes/bars (and I do have the occasional chicken "nugget" from KFC). I want to make sure I'm growing my healthy habits but I just get frustrated at making food only to throw it away. Anyone have healthier choices that don't require a lot of prep?

Real Food - Is it worth the effort?

I'm doing some better with this. I have found a couple of things that work. I don't freeze because I'm just not going to go back and eat it later. My Program recommended Wendy's chili and I get a large and make two meals of it. That's about the only thing I can repeat but I like it cold.
  9. My surgery weight was 430 and today I weigh 399.6! I had to tell someone. I haven't weighed under 400# in over 8 years.
  10. I can't say I'm hungry but my roommate ordered in pizza and that smell...while everything else seems to have no affect on my, that pizza is just making me crazy. You know the crazy that a month ago I would have hit him with a lamp and took it away from him? Glad I grabbed a shake and headed to the office to read. My first hard food moment since surgery.

I'm in Greensboro and had surgery on 4/15 with dr Fuzz in Winston Salem. It was almost 6 months to the day from my very first visit. BCBS approved with no headaches.

    Four Days Post Op

I just completed my first full night of sleep. When I woke to see the sun shining through the blinds it was great. I've been sleeping just a couple of hours at a time.
  13. Well, after years of saying I didn't want to have the bypass here I am 4 days post op. About 5 years ago my partner had surgery and has maintained over 200lb loss. Multiple spinal injuries later and I made my decision. So far so good. It was weird that I felt better in the hospital than at home. Surgery performed by Dr. Fuzz at Wake Forest Baptist one of the nicest doctors I've ever known. Waiting to hear more details about a liver biopsy but all in all a good start.

    Four Days Post Op

They found scar tissue on my liver while they were in there. They are having a specialist check it out.
