If your protein is not over 60gms a day you will not lose.

Awesome!!! Glad to hear so many of us North Carolinians are getting healthy!!! My surgery was July 3. Highest weight was 307 in January, 250 day of surgery and 215 today. I was a size 24 in January and a loose 18 now. My only strugles are chicken of any kind and constipation. I use miralax and colace to stay regular. Feeling fantastic!!!!!!

I am only 6 weekes out and I am testing the waters with foods daily. I have a list of thingd I can't tolerate right now and will try later. I get the same feeling when I eat dry meat as I dob if I take a bite too many. It is a miserable feeling. Throwing up is great compared to the pain in your chest. I personally have zero appetite and and even if it is really good food I struggle making sure I eat enough. I "overate"one time and im not even sure it wasnt more of a texture thing than too much food. Anothe biggoe is not drinking for atleast 30min-1hr after you eat so you dont stretch your stoma out and can have a full feeling after you eat.

Im sorry. It is a miserable feeling. The great thinf about Miralax is it is gentle enough to use daily wothout making you dehydrated. I ended up after I manually disimpacted using a warm olive oil enema. I retained it for an hour ( abou a cup) and then emptoed before going to bed. When I got up the next morning what was left in threctum had broken down and was so much easoer to pass. -

Im a nurse and work for a GI practice. Uou can safely take Miralax up to 4 times a day if need be. I did not have any issues immediately following surgery and an impaction snuck up on me. I was taking colace 3 times a day. I had to manually disimpact my self use an enema after that and took Miralax 4 times a day for 2 days to get cleaned out. Now as maintenance I take it twice a day to stay regular. -
I have been on this forum for some time but I am not computer savy. How do I go about getting a ticker?

I had mine done through Rex on July 3rd. Who are you doing yours through? -
have you checked you blood sugar or blood pressure? and are you drinking plenty of water?
-
Nevermind...I figured it out

Congrats on your surgery and I wish you the most success! Are they thinking fibrosis with Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Diesease? I have pretty severe fatty liver and they are going to biopsy mine when they are in there. Weightloss and low-no carb with moderate fat and excercise help improve it a lot.

Hey baby girl, I work in N Raleigh, we do a lot of the preop endoscopies, I may have done yours. How are you feeling now? Tbaby and 106fox I have tried both of those and they are good. I really like Pure Protein as of now, I can't stand it to be thick, it will be interesting to see what I like after surgery. Tbaby I just noticed my highest weight and yours are the same. Congrats on getting down to 282! I look at everybodies weights and journies on here and it makes me happy to see all of these people doing something to improve their life!!

I went to a support group meeting tonight and they had protein tastings. Isopure is NASTY! I found a few I think are tolerable. Any favorite suggestions out there?

Hello! and am I making the right choice?
Sunnybare replied to chubbsey1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
glad you are doing so well padlrd. That is quite a story and you are right, we all need to get healthier or we will not have a long life. God is in control and all knowing. A mottoI always have loved....have a little Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust! -
That sounds great! I was initially told 3 MD visits, but in actuality it is 90 days... 4 visits. I will have my 3rd visit May 7 and last visit hopefully June 13. When I first tried to have surgery in 2008 I worked at a hospital and they also offered that, but I found out about 1/2 through I was pregnant with my 3 year old angel. You are an inspiration to me looking at your #s. i am currently 14 pds higher than what you started and hope to lose to 150. You have done awesome!
