tsworkinger replied to losing4mylife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just got the call this morning! I'm scheduled for July 8th!!! Woohoo!!!! -
I too started this process in January and just got the call this morning that I've been approved! I was also hoping for a June surgery but am scheduled for July 8th! I'm just glad that there's an end in sight! Really excited but nervous too!!!

I just started my job back in October so I don't have the time to use and since I've not been there for a year yet, I'm not covered under FMLA. :-(

How long was everyone off work after your WLS?

Thanks! I don't have a surgery date yet. I just called the insurance company today and they told me they just got the papers on Friday. I was told to call back on Wednesday. I'm hoping for a June surgery!

Thanks, alc... I do desk work (HR Generalist). My surgeon's office said 2-3 weeks. I'm really hoping to take only two weeks.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. I was wondering how long it took everyone to get approval from their insurance company? I've been told by my surgeon's office that my insurance company has had my paperwork since May 2nd. I'm really hoping I'll have a June date!

Does anyone have Capital Blue Cross? I just spoke with the doctor's office this morning and she said it will take 4-6 weeks! Ugghhhhh!!! That's so long!

I just spoke to the doctor's office this morning, everything's complete and they're submitting to insurance and said it will take 4-6 weeks for approval so realistically I'm probably looking at a June surgery. It seem so far away!!! I'm so ready now!!!

Did anyone else's bloodwork come back positive for pylori? Mine did and I had to go on massive doses of antibiotics. I have completed everything (classes and consults) and just had another test to see if the antibiotics took care of the pylori and I tested positive again! I'm really frustrated as this is going to set me back. They won't operate as long as I'm testing positive. I was curious if anyone else had to go through this?

Both tests were done by bloodwork. I haven't talked with the dr.'s office yet so I don't know what they'll do next. If they put me on another round of antibiotics, it will push out sending for insurance authorization by at least another month. Very discouraging!!!
