I am 3 years post op. Have lost 125 lbs. and maintaining. I've only gotten sick once on over eating. But water kills me. I drink like a gallon a day, some days no problem, others I will get sever pain, can't breathe and mouth will start watering heavily like I'm going to throw up. And sometimes I do. The whole process takes about 15 minutes of pure torture. After the pain subsides or I do throw up I can go on with my day. It doesn't matter if I take little sips or gulp, results same. Has this happened to anyone else?

I was 55 when I had my surgery. Am 58 now. Started at 265, am 142 this morning. Been one of the best decisions I ever made. Did it for me but wanted to do a lot more with hubby. Then he died on me in May of last year. So life has been kinda screwed up.. A lot of things you can't control, but eating is one thing I can. So that helps me stay sane.

And you kinda have to remember to take care of yourself, because if you don't you might not be around to take care of others. -

I am 2 and 1/2 yrs out. Down 126 and maintaining. I can have half a margarita and then can't eat because I am so full and drunk. My husband usta say I was a cheap date. Don't like lobster and one drink got me drunk. Well now it's a half of a drink and no food. It doesn't last very long, but I can feel it. Make sure you are home the first time you try it.

How do you gain weight?
Fancie57 replied to sarahbethemails's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You can eat around it. If you were to eat high fat things like every 2 hrs. The calories do add up. Something you don't wanna do. -

Every morning for breakfast I have a Granny Smith Apple, and PB2 chocolate. My husband has been telling me I should put some cinnamon on my apple. (He does this everyday on his) everyday I tell him I have to have protein when I have fruit. So he put some cinnamon in my pb2 and OMG it was delicious. It is a staple now. And cinnamon is supposed to be good for blood pressure and other things, so it pains me to say but he was right. LOL Try it and let me know what ya'll think. It is really good. I am 19 months out, lost 115 lbs. and loving life.

Fancie57 replied to Pam Peltz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am 57, had my surgery in 2013. Have lost 115 lbs, have more energy now that I had in my younger days. Did not have any problems, everything went smooth. There is nothing I can't eat. No meats bother me, I am one of those sugar doesn't bother, but I treat it like it does. The only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I do have a bad hip so most exercise is a no-no for me so I walk, I do a lot of water walking (summer in my pool, winter YMCA) and it still works. And I walk until it hurts to bad. I love my life, follow your Drs plan, get your blood work. And remember this is not a diet, but a new way of life. It is just a tool, how you use it is up to you. -
I mix the chocolate pb2 with a chocolate premier shake for more protein and dip my apple in it everyday. Love it.
-
I freeze mine, almost like eating ice cream. Don't freeze it all the way hard, just put them in freezer for about 2 21/2 hrs. They get slushy. Good stuff !!!
-
You will do great. Good luck and let us know when it's over.

I promised my husband if I cheated on the pre op diet I would cancel the surgery. His thinking was if I couldn't do what my dr wanted me to do for two weeks how was I going to do this for the rest of my life. I got to thinking he was right. All of the sudden I wasn't hungry anymore and the two weeks flew by. It has now been 19 months, went from 265 to this morning 150.8. And loving life. You can do this. What is 2 weeks out of the rest of your life?

19 months and no regrets. Would do it again in a New York minute. Am down 115 lbs, maintaining and loving life.
