Too much protein?

Can you get the injury brand at a store like Walmart or GNC? Or do you have to order it on line? I am thinking about trying it. -
Had my pre-op today and started my one week liquid diet. Tomorrow I go on the road for three days with a shaker cup and individual pouches of protein shakes. This is going to be challenging.

Insurance stuff being submitted today...now I wait...
Texasmike replied to renee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aetna told me 15 days after they received my package. They took 14 days 5 hours but who was counting? I was really worried but they approved my surgery. Hang in ther. -
Some else told me about doctors being negative on gastric bypass but being fine with cosmetic surgery with no health benefits.

I know what you are going through. I told a couple of coworkers and was very surprised by their support. One did not approve but told me matter of fact that she realized it was my decision not hers. The family is another situation all together. Mom and brother were ok but my sister was something else. I finally told her that her older brother was not asking for permission or approval. I was notifying her of my decision and not listen to any negative comments. It is amazing that she is still talking to me. My nephews wife is a doctor and my sister put him up to calling to talk me out of it. I was prepared since I know my sister. When she started the negative comments and complications I agreed and told her the complication rate is less than breast enlargement and face lifts. She apologized since she is very familiar with one of the procedures. And I reminded of the health benefits I would see.

Thanks, I am really looking forward to it.

I am doing really good now that I know I am approved. Since I will start a 7 day liquid diet on Tuesday we had Dairy Queen for dinner. I won't have ice cream or milk products for quite a while. I bought two protein shakers at Walmart tonight to get ready and can hardly wait.

Things I will not miss...
Texasmike replied to terry1118's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It happened when I was with my boss in Mexico. We blamed it on having desert. -
I know the feeling. I am afraid they won't approve the surgery and I will really be depressed. But I try not to dwell on anything negative.

I won't miss everyone looking at me when the car scrapes on a speed bump. -
I think I will call Aetna again tomorrow. I feel like a little kid in the back seat on a family trip. Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

Spoke with Dr. Davis's bariatric coordinator and Aetna today. The Medical Director at Aetna has my record and should render a decision this Friday. The waiting is really

I am in the same situation tomorrow. I attend my last nutrition class tomorrow afternoon and then my paperwork goes in. -
Good deal. I am starting a high protein diet tomorrow one week in advance of my 3 month completion of the supervised diet. I really hope we can get the insurance approval quickly.

I am pre-op going for my last nutrition class in another week. Dr. Robert Davis is my surgeon.

My coworkers are pretty supportive about gastric bypass surgery and most of them know someone who has had it done. However I am seeing a reoccurring theme around happiness and I would like some feedback from the forum. Several people have told me that the people that have had gastric bypass surgery are having problems being happy with what they cannot eat at office functions. My coworkers say their friends concentrate on what they cannot have and their outlook has changed. My wife is concerned that I will not be the positive person that I am now after surgery. Any opinions?
