Unjury is available online at unjury.com. It is very easy to disolve. Be sure to get some unflavored to add to your favorite soup. -
TENaciousTENS "roll call" as promised!

Hi Tens! It has been 2 full weeks since Kloverdad (Dylan) and I got our bands and we are feeling so goo. I am down 10 pounds since the band (a total of 27 pound since the pre-op diet) and can now wear size 20, something I have not done in several years. Dylan is down 41 pound so far, 18 since the band. There is no more pain. We are on soft foods. For breakfast we fluid loaded with a cup of hot tea and an 8 oz banana protein shake. #0 minutes later we each ate 1 scrambled egg and 3 thin slixes of Canadian bacon, cut small. After that we felt as full as if we just downed a breakfast feast at IHOP. We love the Unjury protein. The unflavored is wonderful added to ordinary canned soup, blended and heated in the microwave. The chocolate blended with no-sugar added hot cocoa make a satisfying warm treat. Here is a holiday recipe for those who enjoy the Fall season and some of the treats out there: PUMPKIN PROTEIN SHAKE This is a wonderfully decadent way to get in your protein! Spicy, creamy and icy-thick.…milkshakes never had it so good! 1/4 cup pumpkin puree 1 cup skim milk or soymilk 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (such as Matrix Simply Vanilla) 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or 1/4 t. cinnamon, 1/8 t. cloves, 1/8 t. ginger) 2 tablespoons Splenda Granular 1/4 cup Cool Whip or NSA Vanilla yogurt 1 cup ice cubes Place pumpkin, milk, protein powder, spices, Splenda, cool whip or yogurt, and ice cubes in blender container; process until slushy. Makes one meal replacement serving. Per Serving: 230 Cal; 28 g Protein; 5 g Tot Fat; 13 g Carb; 1 g Fiber; 2 g Sugar; 115 mg Sodium Best of luck to everyone in our group. Mary (Klovermom) -

Hi Ya'll, I'm using klovermom's computer... A new Router has put up a firewall between me and the E-Net blocking access for the time being... Any way I'm 324.6 pounds (So you don't have to look back; I was 340.0 on the 1st). Not really doing anything special diet wise -- Smoothies of various favors with a WELL blended banana (once in awhile), Well blended chichen noodle soup and Mary makes a great (life-saving) Chicken and Enchilada soup (Progresso low-carb) with a little sharp cheddar all well blended and then a ball of sour cream (Damn the if-it-goes-up-a-straw advice). I was at wits end with the liquids until she came up with that C and E concoction - it was as good as... well you fill it in with a savory dish you love. All meals have a scoop of UNjury added. As of yesterday I started drinking diet-pepsi - no ill effects. A (normal) burp here or there but that's about it. As far as the straw comment goes -- I did it for a good 9 or 10 days. Figured, as I haven't been filled yet, and the swelling/discomfort had been gone for days: it was time (for me) to bump it up a notch. Please, Please, Please don't take my actions as anything more than me doing what I was prepare to take the consequences for. Be reasonable. I don't chug-a-lug ANYTHING. I take things causiously(sp) slow -- learning MY band as you could learn YOUR Band. So, again, please don't point the finger at dear ol' Dylan and say, "He did X,Y,Z so I'll do it too." I'm a green-ass rookie at this new way of life and I am trying to stay within the good guidelines and advice given by the more experienced of us. On the lighter side: I still have four steri-strips over my port site - Must of use extra-strength Super Glue there. And now it's time for a quick joke: Little boy comes running home from school one day; Mommy! Mommy! Guess what!? Mother: What is it son? What has gotten you so excited today? Boy: The teacher asked a question in class today and only I knew the answer.! Mother: Well son that's wonderful news. That's just the kind of news that every mother wants to hear. It makes a mother very proud. Buy the way.... What was the question? Boy: Who farted? See Ya, Dylan -

Please add us to the rollcall. This is Klovermom (Mary) and Kloverdad (Dylan) who both will be banded Oct 1 in Acuna, Mexico by Dr. Jose Rodriguez. We are looking forward to this new adventure and cheering our new friends on! -
You are reading correctly. You will have to be committed to making some really drastic diet changes with a band. I am scheduled for surgery Oct. 1 and am mentally preparing myself for the changes. Treats will have to be limited for sure, but hey, treats are one of the things that got me over 250 pounds. Diet soda will have to be replaced with Crystal light or some other non-carbonated beverage. The hardest thing for me is my daily glass of wine is gone now and will be replaced by a rare rum and juice. This is a sacrifice, but I realize I need drastic changes for my health. Look around, you will not see very many really old fat people. This may not be the ideal choice for you, everyone is different and their needs are different. My most pressing need is to get this weight off once and for all and I have not been able to do that before and keep it off. best of luck no matter what you decide. Mary

Sleep Apnea & Anesthesia
Klovermom replied to justwant2lose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry, lots of spelling errors, I just woke up and can't even read the keyboard just now. I just felt compelled to offer some professional advice, even if I can't spell like a professional right now., -
Sleep Apnea & Anesthesia
Klovermom replied to justwant2lose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am speaking as an RN here: You most definitely will stop btreathing under general anesthesia... everyone does, that is why the place a small tube down your trachea and a machine breaths for you while they do surgery. Do a google search for general anesthesia. You must be perfectly still while the delicate procedures are being proformed. Even if you were normally sleeping you might jerk out of reflex. General anesthesia is the closest you will ever come to being dead. Do not be afraid, it is kinda cool. I have had 4 major surgeries and it is like time stands still. You close your eyes, then open them in what seems the next split second and you are finished. It is after surgery that the breathing problems can occur. You should sleep with your head elevayed, force yourself to cough and deep breath every hour or more often. Hold a pillow across your stomache to help with the pain. If you have questions ask the anestheologist that will be doing your surgery, but develop an underlying knowledge base first so you will know more what to ask. We will be fine, best of luck. -
I love your attitude. I am a Texas gal also. My husband and I are being banded Oct. 1 in Mexico. We are also self pay and feel the benefits will pay us back in the long run. best of luck!
