I have been over-weight since age 10. But drastically over-weight didn't really start until age 19 that is when I started my first diet. Or should I say first self diet lost weight going on all liquids only for 1 week. At the end of that first week I was so ready to eat solids that I would have chewed my arm off if not for KFC (it was called kentucky fried chicken then) being so close. But as with all of the diets that I have tried over the years when I stop I gain the lost weight and 20 pounds more. So from 180 lost 10 so up to 200 by the time I was 25. from there I tried the old weight watchers and everyother diet known to man. After each of my Daughters, during pregnancy, I would do the opposit of most I would lose any where from 25 to 30 pounds except with the last I lost 52 pounds. sounds great doesn't it yea but now re-read what I said about the 20 pounds more after each diet (pregnancy counts as a diet for me because I craved things that didn't add pounds fruit, fish, etc). I once drove across town because my father told me he had bought a huge watermelon and I sat and ate half before going home. Now I had many bathroom breaks during the night but after I lost 5 pounds. Post-partum depression set in after each and the weight climbed like the little man on that ladder on the game show that Bob Barker used to host yoddeling all the way to the top. So in 2003 I had been on a waiting list for the lap band surgery. Not too many surgeons doing them here so the waiting list was 6 months long well I figured I had waited years 6 months wouldn't be anything until a month after going on the list I found out I was 2 months pregnant ha. and who said God doesn't have a since of humor. so when my spot came open and the nurse called me to let me know "hey the Doctor is ready to start your pre-surgery stuff" I told her that my Ob gyn had already been doing my pre-delivery stuff that I was 7 months pregnant. All she could say was OH and all I could do was cry, happy for my little angel wouldn't trade her for nothing even when she locked my keys in my running while parked in driveway car. Last year our insurance coordinator sent out a mass email stating that my insurance carrier was starting a pilot program and the first 100 people that qualified to receive surgery could have it payed up to 80% starting in January 2013. A little nervous so I waited a month looked up the list of surgeons and picked the one I liked and made the call. I qualified so to be ready to pay my part (didn't want anything to get in the way) I elected the max amount on my cafeteria plan in hopes that it would be enough and I wouldn't have to come out of pocket alot and it turned out when I got a call from financial department at hospital I had requested about 500$ too much. He has a since of humor but he didn't let me down. Here I am 6 days out and tomorrow April 5 is my birthday. This is my Story
