    First Fill Today! Scared!!!

:omg: DANG! My fill doc deadens the port area. He turns on the flouro finds the spot and hits it with one attempt. No pain at all! My belly feels sort of funny for a little while as it stays numb a little while like your mouth after dental work. But believe me, the fill is no where close to dental work. I would ask for him to deaden it. It only takes a little novacaine. Flouro is a great idea also. I had really rather pay the extra than chance my tubing being punctured. Talk to the fill doc about it. Corliss

    Why are YOU Fat?

My parents showed us love by providing food. My mother cooked healthy food and we were expected to clean our plates. If we didn't like what she cooked it was taken as personal rejection. I grew up almost an only child with my sister 10 years older. We had no close neighbors with kids and no activities during the summer unless it was working in the garden. My parents grew up in the depression and knew what it was like to do without, they were determined we never would. Somehow I think it was a combination of eating for entertainment and out of a sense of loyalty and gratitude that led to food being my "abusive lover". I have been banded since Nov. 18, 2005 and have lost a total of 51 lbs including my presurgery diet. Food is still my lover. It is more like a dating relationship now than a live in arrangement. I am trying to learn to set boundaries and the band is helping. Corliss 373/356/322 Goal-Onward and Downward!

    New Board for Rainbow Bandesters

No not stupid at all!!! When you don't know, an honest question is always a fair question! Yes, it is for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered bandsters. I would hope that anyone who fits the criteria would not leave this board but merely visit that one too! Just one of those special interest boards for bandesters who might not want to talk about same sex partnerships and their support or lack of openly on this board. I believe most bandsters are exceptional people, but their is predjudice in life and some GLBTG folks are less comfortable talking about Same Sex issues openly on the general boards. I hope no one would "leave this board" for another one. I certainly won't leave, you folks have been great.

    New Board for Rainbow Bandesters

Hi all! Thanks so much for all the support and information I have been able to receive here. I wanted to let anyone know who might have an interest that there is a new board that has started that is for members of GLBTG community who are prebanded or banded already. It is very new and is well moderated. Some interesting folks and conversation so far. If you are interested this is the address rainbowbandsters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com Thanks Corliss

    I am sad and angry...

You stay with them girl. I have been an insurance care manager in behavioral health and even though they don't tell you you can't approve something (unless the policy has an exclusion or statement of noncoverage) they expect you to work your hardest to keep the patient from getting anything expensive, but if you go through all the channels and don't give up, you can win in most areas. If you don't get it approved, get a good attorny involved and make sure you have continuous documentation of skin break downs occuring subsequent to denial.

    Anal Odor

I have old style intestinal bypass and am considering getting a band. I do have major problems with stinky stools and horrific gas odors. I take a product called NULLO which helps tremendously, but doesn't clear up the problem. Nullo is an internal deoderant made for people who have ostomies. It works. The gas is much better when I avoid carbs. The odor coming from people may be from their clothing if they have passed gas. Clothing absorbs it like clothing absorbs cigarette smoke, and believe me it is much more foul. I am new to this board and need to talk to someone who has had a band over the old style intestinal bypass, please respond! Thanks
