  1. Had a thyroidectomy in 2010...gained 110lbs as a result of it which led to me RNY surgery in April of 2013. In a year's time, I have lost 120 lbs and I am feeling great. I have not been exercising like I should lately but I am getting back on the horse tomorrow morning and getting on that treadmill at the gym (gained 5lbs in a few days).
  2. So I'm one week post op and I really haven't had a bowel movement. I sat on the toilet on Monday but nothing really (sorry for the TMI). So my question is has anyone else had this issue. I figured that I didn't really have to go because I've been only drinking liquids....
  3. I guess I will need to temper my justice with mercy. I will leave my abrasive comments for the man section of this forum . At any rate, good luck on your journey ladies.
  4. Wait a minute...I haven't name called or insulted anyone on this board and as I explained before I wasn't trying to "judge" or berate anyone. Even though a few didn't like how my comment came across, I made it a point to apologize and clarify my statement and yet you want to tell me about be more classy? And according to MissMegan, I lack communication skills...really? So now I turn my question to you, what did I say to come across as "rude"...I'm confused. I can accept someone not agreeing with me and even criticizing, but the name calling and indirect insults are a bit childish. We are all adults here and I think folks should definitely take a moment to think before they speak.
  5. Please elaborate on how my comments were either non supportive or how I lack communicative skills? You seem to be the ONLY one offended by my comments. Is it because I asked discouraged individuals what they were doing as far as exercise? Or was it because I advised them to stay off the scale? Or was it my "hard work pays off" comment? I'm confused? Instead of making reference to my communication skills, take a moment and think about your response....
  6. My intentions are not to judge or berate anyone. I was simply asking for more information and offering a advice based on my opinion. I apologize if it doesn't come off as "supportive" but that's your opinion. I understand that people have their frustrations and want to vent but I really don't see any issue with how I responded. If someone steps on the scale daily, for example, they may drive themselves crazy.
  7. For the folks that are discouraged about not losing weight, let me ask you guys this? What kind of exercise/activity are you guys doing? This is merely a TOOL for your weight loss...you will still need to be more active. Even though I just had my surgery on the 11th, I don't make it a priority to step on the scale. In my opinion, you guys should stay off the scale and start working out...hard work pays off!
  8. Just had surgery on the 11th...I am on 2 week clear liquids diet...to avoid dehydration, what are some typical daily meal plans. Because I'm not hungry, I'm not sure if I'm eating enough.
  9. Just got home yesterday...I don't know when I'm full so Im not sure how much to eat. Has anyone developed a routine for taking vitamins?
  10. Just had my surgery yesterday...feeling good...I'm supposed to be doing my leak test later this morning them on to the liquid diet. Should be going home later today.
  11. Has anyone found that lifting weights has reduced the effects of loose skin?
  12. So what's your weight like now?
  13. Has anyone had weight loss surgery after having a complete thyroidectomy? If so, did they have any issues with weight loss?
