Also if there are any questions I should ask that you never thought of before hand. I'm 21 and have been looking into rny since I was 16. -

Surgery Dates for July
nicolebishop91 replied to elli'smommy's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I got the call from my drs office this morning! Insurance was approved. I have my class on the 27th and have to schedule a date with in thirty days of the class. So I will fall into the July group. I'm so excited I have had a smile on my face all day! -
I'm almost 22, and my mom had me on diets starting age 11. Going to the Y to swim and work out. She even enrolled me in curves. Diets and exersize just don't work for some people.

My mother in law says the same thing. I really want to tell the people who question my decision to shut up, and watch. Lol

You look amazing! Such a beautiful smile too. I love seeing everyones progress, makes me itch with anticipation! Keep up the great work. -
So I just had my tonsils out yesterday. At 21 almost 22, I am wishing my mother had gotten them out when I was a kid. On the up side! This is great practice for small sipping and a liquid/soft diet. Lol

I just have one more session for the psyc eval, and then it will just be a waiting game. I don't have to do any pre-surgery hoops. I have been researching this surgery since I was 16. So I'm am READY! Lol -

first apointment in the morning!
nicolebishop91 replied to nicolebishop91's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It went really well. I don't have any required prerequisites for the surgery. Just my pyc eval and approvel from my insurance and then ill get my date! All the doctors did was go over the surgery and how its done and they weight and measured me. Pretty simple and to the point. He said it would have been more extensive except I don't have any health conditions tied to being over weight and my bmi was under 60 so I don't have to lose any weight. I'm sooooo excited!!!!!! -
My aunt had hers done in 03. She would set an alarm through the night. I don't know how she truely got any sleep waking up every hour to sip on what ever fluid for fifteen minutes. Ugh. Something I'm going to be afraid of too, I always have a drink in hand. Constantly drinking water so its a habbit I'm going to have to learn to break till I'm all healed. Cause if I have it in front of me ill drink it. And I'm a chugger

Negative feedback from family.
nicolebishop91 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having a hard time, my side of the family is behind me 100%. But my in-laws are so negative about it. It shouldn't bother me since I have the support I need, but it only takes one nay sayer to ruin my excitment. they don't understand why I can just diet and work out. -
Negative feedback from family.

Thank you for the support! I just have to put them out of my head. My husband was iffy about it at first cause he doesn't want anything bad to happen to me. But he has come to realize I want and need this to be healthy and happy. I wish my surgery date was tomorrow lol that's how eager I am to get started! -
Oh. My. God. I peed my pants laughing. Lol!!!

So I am 21, 5'6", 338lbs, bmi/55.5. I have been considering rny since I was 16. I have been over weight since I can remember. I have been on and off diets since I was 11. I am blessed to not have any health issues from my weight...yet. I have come to be comftorable and confident in my own skin. I am married to my loving husband of three years, we have a son named jesse who will be two july 1st. I had a very hard life all through school, I was always depressed being made fun of took a toll on my during middle school. My mother had to pull me out of public school and home school me. I made the decision to enroll in public high school because I wanted the expirence and thought that the students would have grown up by then. The teasing lessened but never went away. I had very few friends and never had a boyfriend. It really helped me become who I am though, I honestly don't know who I would be if I hadn't of been strong and kept my head up. Anyways. I have had three family members have rny, all of which are so excited for me. A lot of my other family doesn't understand, especially my in-laws. They think the risks are to great and that I can do it on my own, but they don't know the struggle it is to be on a diet and work your butt off for six months only to lose 10-15 pounds. Then you go into a bout of depression and gain it all back, cause what do we do when we are sad? We eat, cause it makes us happy. Or it does me anyways. I am so ready and excited to take this next step in my life. I want to be able to keep up with my son most of all, I don't want to be the fat mom who can't go on the field trips cause she can't keep up. I want to take him to the fair and actually ride the rides with him. I am doing this for my future health and so I can be in my sons memories and have that much longer of a life. I have my first appoinment on Friday and I am driving three hours away from where I live cause they are the closest who take my insurance. Wish me luck!!!

So excited for you! Good luck!!!

five years coming.
nicolebishop91 replied to nicolebishop91's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My younger brother has had it for years before we knew what it really was. I snor but not enough I think I have it. But we will see. If I need it I want to get it out of the way cause so far I have everything I need done. Unless they spring something else on me. -
Its a taping of an actual surgery they show the insides, the whole shbang. Is it weird that it makes me that more excited? Lol I have always been the kind of person that if I know what's being done I can handle it better. Like with my son I had him c-section, everyone horror storied me so I was expecting this awful crippiling pain and I was up walking around 4 hours post op. But with my gallbladder being taken out no one really preped me on what it would feel like and I was worse than having a kid! What should have been a out-paitent surgery took me three days to be able to handle going home. Just thought I would share my current thoughts with you all. Let me know how you preped yourself mentaly for surgery. Or if you thought it would be cake.

I'm so excited. Five days till I go to my first appoinment. Do you know if a sleep study is a common requirement to have the rny? -
Isn't it great the little things you notice?
nicolebishop91 replied to soontobehealthymom's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am excited to take a bath and to own a pair of real leather boots that go to my knee or higher. I have my fathers shins on top of being over weight so I never have owned anything other than ugg style boots and rain boots which were still a pain.
