1. Had my surgiversary on April 17. Didn't make my 100 goal. Dang it, but I still did pretty well at 99. On April 16 I bought an entry into a half marathon to be held October 5. We'll see if my work grants me leave though. Lol. I started competing in races in December, with my longest at 9 miles back in February. Left frame was May '12 around 296 lbs (highest 310). Middle was night before my RNY at 274.8. Right was April 17 at 176.
2. I'm sorry that you're in this situation and having to make such a choice at this time of your life. I honestly would be making the same decision if I found myself in the same situation right now. Don't let anybody (here or wherever) guilt trip you about whatever you choose. I applaud you for being open and honest on what is a volatile topic.
3. SD 4-17-13 HW 310 SW 274.8 CW 176 GW 155 (surgeon), 135 (personal) Loss 98, 99 lbs (fluctuating) 24/3XL clothes to 14/16/large bottoms and 14/medium tops. Bra went from 44DDD to 38 DD. My girls are noticeably smaller but I guess the loose skin is taking up the old space in my bras. Lol. No more demi cups for me!
4. My surgiversary is on the 17th and I realllllly wanted to make a 100 lb loss by then. But, alas, I don't think it is meant to be. Been holding at 98 lbs for a while now, but that's still something to be proud of. The weight had been barely coming off for six months now. I run, lift weights, generally do what I'm supposed to. I eat too many carbs, so that's my only downfall. Currently 176 lbs at 5'3".

Building Muscle

Wow!! Very inspirational. My fear is becoming "skinny fat" as my weight comes off so I've been doing a lot of strength training since I was able to start going to the gym.
6. I came home 7 lbs heavier. My surgeon told me later that she ordered extra IV fluids because she preferred me to have too much than become dehydrated. It'll drop off real quick, don't worry.
7. I had RNY on April 17 and have lost 54 lbs so far. Wish it was more but I'm doing better than I was before surgery. Attached a pic (hopefully correctly) of me during three stages of weight loss. First frame was May '12 and close to my highest weight of 310. Middle frame was the night before surgery when I weighed 274.8. Third frame is Friday afternoon when I was 221 lbs and trying on size 18 pants, down from 24 sometimes 26. 18 is size I haven't worn in maybe 10 years, hence the big grin on my face. Was a great feeling.
8. So how long did your stall last? I'm four months out now I too and I'm two weeks into a stall and am about to lose my mind. Lol. Holding at 222 lbs.
9. Guess I'll introduce myself too. My name is Christina, I'm 33 years old, never married, no kids, two cats and 1 boyfriend of 4 months. For the past almost 11 years I've worked as a 911 operator and police/fire/ EMS dispatcher. Currently on the graveyard shift and will be there for about a year (10 months to go!). Had my RNY April 17 and I've "only" lost 33 lbs so far. But I'm still happy about that because I haven't weighed 241 in a loooong time. Had a dinner date with my boo Friday and wore a size 1X dress, which I still almost can't believe. I'm at the point where I can still technically wear my old clothes but I'm starting to look sloppy. Think I might try to go to Old Navy in a bit and see if I can get some XXL bottoms to fit (really need new gym clothes especially), but I'm kinda afraid of being disappointed. Only one way to find out. Edited to add that my highest weight was 310. Lost about 35 lbslast year and found out that I love strength training when I tried out P90x. I just had a hard time sticking with it because I wasn't adjusting my diet enough. Fell off the wagon and gained about 20 lbs back. Now that I CAN'T eat poorly or else I'll dump hopefully it'll be easier for me to train and make progress. My goal is to be able to run again and actually be in a 5k and eventually a mud run. I feel like I've missed out on so much already that it's time to make up for it and enjoy my body and my life some more.
10. My apologies if this has been asked already, but does anybody else feel more flabby since surgery? I realize it's the fat breaking down, etc, but it's just such a weird sensation. When I go to the gym and do my exercises in the mirror I can't help but focus on my wiggling parts. Lol.

Lil piece of heaven

They also make that in those flavored packets for water. I've gone through a couple boxes of them already. Good stuff.
12. Today I got from my Avon rep a dress I ordered (on clearance) in a size 1X. Took it home, tried it on and it fit beautifully! I used to wear 3X, sometimes 2X depending on the cut, but 1X I hadn't been able to wear in at least 8 years. Such a great feeling. I was a slow loser until the past week when I started losing about a pound a day. *Finally* at 32 lbs now at 9 weeks out. I started weight training all over again two days ago and am sore but feeling good from it. Today is my rest day and I know I'm retaining some extra water weight so I'm gonna try not to freak when I step on the scale. Lol
