Looking for April 15-16-17 people
MrsLulu replied to Cherry's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Awww man! Tomorrow is the big day! I am not feeling nervous, but more anxious to just get it over with. I am doing all my packing today but have had my list ready for the last week!! Hahaha. I am sure the nerves will catch up with me when it is time to sleep tonight. Ahhhhhh -
I am doing the premier protein as well. It tastes the closest to chocolate milk and not a chalky aftertaste or thick. Plus, it has 30 grams of protein for each shake which is great. I have had no issues with it, and I got it from Sam's club.

first apointment in the morning!

Good luck! :-) -
I suffer from extremely debilitating migraines and I am worried that because the main ingredient in the only medication that helps (fiorcet) is full of caffeine, that I can't have it if I need it after surgery. I can get migraines up to 20 a month, and although surgery is supposed to greatly decrease this, there is no cure or idea on when this will happen. Does anyone else suffer from this? Anyone have suggestions?

4 more for me... feels like forever! Hilarious story... Today I woke up and had a conversation with my liver. It went like this: Me: Listen Maria (yes, I named her), we need to get it together before surgery, girl. Maria: Stop telling me what to do! I run the show right now. Me: just friggin shrink as much as possible already, geez! Stop being a big baby. And then I really woke up and realized I was just having a dream about talking to my liver, and I named it Maria! WTF??? LOL!!! Maybe I am getting nervous and it is manifesting in strange ways. Hahaha

I am right there with you!!! April 15th @11am. It seems scary, and we wouldn't be normal if we didn't question such a major life change. Fore, I know that everything will be fine and over with quickly. It just feels slow right now. WE GOT THIS!!!!

How much of a loss did you have on the liquid diet pre-op? I am doing what they instructed me to do, but I have plateaued. I tried drinking more water, but honestly I feel like I am drowning. Lol! Anyone else feel this way?

Ms Crazy & the Pre-Op Diet Period
MrsLulu replied to Obeasta's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Let me say I completely understand. This pre-op has got me snapping at everyone around me. I haven't lost much weight in the last week due to friggin Aunt Flow showing up outta nowhere, and that is making me want to cry everyday. We have been eating healthy as a household for about 3 months preparing for my surgery, but I caught my husband hiding KFC and eating chicken wings like a crackhead because he is starving since I don't have the will to cook without being able to eat, too. Poor man is losing more weight than I am!!! I did great the first week, now I am drooling at every commercial on TV and am craving solid food. I am trying to stay strong by counting down the days but it is really hard. I practically had to choke down the shakes today. I have meds that I have to take, and it is hard to get those down too. I empathize completely. -
That is awesome! I am glad you are already home.

MrsLulu replied to Cherry's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I hate the meds too! Absolutely a perfectionist but with everything except my health. I was always the girl that was big but active. I ran circles around my skinny friends, it made no sense to me. Then with PCOS and insulin resistance, it makes more sense. The meds suck, but I have been in really tight control of my blood glucose levels for awhile now. I am tired of depending on medication to be functional, I am ready to move on from that part of my life. All of the nervousness is overshadowed with excitement. -

Aunt Flow during Surgery?
MrsLulu replied to coolnessa22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All of the weight loss prior to surgery has triggered three regular months pre-op on a regular basis. This hasn't happened in years, and I don't know what the heck to do about it Lol! I am pretty worried about the cramping and pain of this being added to the surgery pain. Ugh... hope the meds will knock me out. -
Harsh coworkers/friends?
MrsLulu replied to futuremrsparker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am totally with you guys on this. I have told only a very few people because the support is just not there. It is sad, but very true. The stigma of surgery being the easy way put is just awful, as it is not at all the easy way. I started this journey at 391lbs 2 months ago, and am at 358 right now. I have surgery on 4/15. I have worked very hard to get to that point, and get all of the testing done in that small amount of time. I have changed all of my eating habits and forced my family to change. I seriously am happy I found this website because it is nice to have others who know what I am going through instead of just feeling like I going through this alone. My spouse does not understand the requirements and thinks the change is just for 6months or so. His perception is off. I happy he is here for me but worried he will try to help and get frustrated because he will be doing the wrong things. -
Good luck and wishes of speedy recovery all the Tuesday surgery people. Hope all people with surgeries for today went well. Prayers for all. :-)

The Journey to Awaken the (Th)Inner Me
MrsLulu replied to MrsLulu's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you for the support! I am very excited and just want to get to the surgery already. I feel better with just the amount I have already lost, minus the starving due to the liquids but am pushing through. Eyes are on the prize! -
The Journey to Awaken the (Th)Inner Me
MrsLulu posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have been overweight since I was a child. I was a very curvy teenager, and I had no problem with that. My ideal size was about a 14-16 or so. I am 5"10' so it looms funny for me to be too skinny. I met my husband when I was 15, and a size 16. We were two peas in pod so we got hitched at 20. Then, after that, and we did all kinds of outdoor activities. We went hiking, fishing, camping, and the like. We did tons of traveling. It was great. Then there were issues with conceiving and I was diagnoses with Polysistic Ovaries and it really messed up my hormones. I started packing on weight really badly. Then, came the migraines and the really bad thigh and leg pain and even use a CPAP. All of these pains and issues just caused me to become a recluse. I really packed on the weight then because I didn't want to go outside. Now, I take meds for everything from HBP, Diabetes, pain, high blood inflammation pain markers, sleeping pills, and tons of migraine meds. I started the WLS journey on 2/22 and my insurance company was amazing. My surgeon got me in right away. I am worried about this clear liquid diet because all I want it shrimp I keep seeing on TV. I starving, but really wanting to push through. I was on another forum but there was no support or any responses. I just want this to be over with so I can move on to the phase where my work can pay off and weight drops. On 2/22, I was 391 On 3/24, I was 377 On 4/2, I was 358 I feel I have made good progress, now I am just waiting for surgery on 4/15 @ 9. Thank you for any support you offer. It is appreciated. -
Awww man, I failed and totally ate a few bites of chicken and a couple of shrimp. I was doing great, and hadn't eaten anything for 7 days but caved. My will power just went away. I am starving now. It is really hard to cook for everyone and not be able to eat anything. The liquid diet sucks, but feeling like a failure because I ate some food feels even worse. Ugh :-(

Aunt Flow during Surgery?
MrsLulu replied to coolnessa22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I rarely get them regularly with PCOS, and when I do, they are 7-12 days of holy hell! Well my surgery is in 9 days and I just started today! What tha????? This is my luck! I think it is all the hormones because of the rapid weight loss up until now cause this. Now I understand why I am losing hardly any weight on the liquid diet, all that water retention. This is no bueno!
