I am with you guys, the surgery went fine and everything but I am hurting Sooo much right now! Every time I move it feels exactly like that. I was actually thinking of heading back to the hospital because of the pain but just don't think there is anything they can really do if it is muscular. I haven't had one night of sleep or been able to lay in my own bed since I have been home. It is very frustrating and painful.

Can you give me the name brand or some specifics so I know what is best to look for? I know I need to get that, the side muscle hurts soooooo much!

Yeah, exactly! On the left of my belly button is where it hurts the most. I know the incisions hurt some, but this is like really painful. I hope it starts to go away soon, I can hardly walk. -

Man, sure hurting today. It doesn't feel like incision pain, it feels like I pulled a muscle in my stomach. I know I really hurt myself on Thursday trying to get outta bed, I wonder if this is where all of the pain is coming from. How does it feel to pull a tummy muscle? Anyone know? -
I hear ya, my family had pizza for a kids birthday party the other day. I wasn't hungry or anything but the smell of it was hard. The whole fully stocked kitchen thing, I completely understand.

Day 5 post op and still hurting a lot on the left. Haven't been able to sleep in my own bed yet, hurts too much to climb into bed. I am so tired I feel like I haven't rested enough to heal. It seems like everyone else is doing great, is it just me dealing with this? -

Okay y'all. TMI time. Has everyone ready had a bowel movement? I have been fine with passing gas but still no BM and I just took some Milk of Mag hoping that works soon. Anyone else having this issue? -
The left side pain is still pretty bad but everything else is manageable. I feel okay, tired of liquids too!! Especially with the two weeks prior liquid diet, now this. I am on the full liquids but it is the shakes that I am struggling with. Are you getting them down okay? I think it hurt when it was cold.

What ya eating tonight?
MrsLulu replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tonight I am struggling to get my protein shake in. Today I have had a few bites of pudding and some cream of chicken soup with herbs. I really want to eat string cheese but it has only been 4 days since surgery so I know it is not a good idea. Man, I would love to just have some cheese... Lol! I really need to get my protein in, but it is harder than I thought it would be. Before surgery I was starving and couldn't eat. Now there are things I can eat, and I am not hungry. Hmmm, interesting.... -
What has really helped me tonight is putting a few pillows on the bed, and leaning my stomach into them to cough or try to pass gas. OMG, it has worked wonders! Not a pleasant topic but figured I would share what worked for me. It felt so good just to have the pressure on my tummy, I just wanted to stay there. Hahaha not really a great thing to see, but man it sure felt good while I could stay there. Hope everyone is doing well.

So I am right at 4 days post op, and my left side sure hurts today. I can move around, but it would be so much easier if I had some type of belt to wrap around to hold up my left side. The left incision is right between two rolls and where my pants hit. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone deal with that issue before?

Not feeling nauseous or anything just really hurting on the left. I did notice that I might have eaten too much when I was eating some cream of chicken soup earlier. Got an uncomfortable feeling in my chest and upper abdomen but not until 10 minutes later. I was really scared of dumping too but I didn't, thank God! -

How is everyone doing? Made it through the first 4 days, but still healing. I can say the left side cut hurts pretty bad still, and it is right where my pants hit. Ugh! It feels okay to walk around as long as I am holding my left side. I wish I had a wrap around thing that would make me not have to hold my tummy. Anyone else having that problem? -
Made it home, still pretty sore but much better than before. The gas is killer, taking the gas-x now that I am home. Want to lay down and sleep but don't see that happening because my bed is too tall. Epic fail. But, had a little cream of chicken soup and feeling alright. Going to take some pain meds and snooze in the lazy-z-boy before walking a bit more.

Feeling much better on day 2 and 3. Day 1 was tough. My morphine pump messed up throughout the night and stopped working so I was med-free for awhile and in a lot of pain. Once that was under control, I was doing better. Coughing hurts, but using a pillow and having one leg off the bed helps. Hope y'all are well. -
Surgery yesterday. No cath or anything but lots of pain on day 1, day 2 was a little better. Morphine pump is gone, and have been up walking today. Still hurts but each day seems to be better. No nausea and on full liquids now. They won't let me take the gas-x. Boooo....

Leaving the house for the hospital! Surgery time!!!!! Good luck to my surgery buddies... we got this!

Mine was all liquids too, and it was really tough!! I did have a few bites of food though. Out of all 14 days, I had about 3 bites of chicken and a few shrimp, and a piece of deli turkey. I was STARVING! You are lucky you get to have real food during your pre-op. Best of luck :-)
