  1. I was a 44DDD, and wish they wouldn't leave so quickly! I really miss them and don't know how I'm feeling about going down to a C cup right now. A coworker just gave me a huge box of clothing and she said to get some sports bras for the transition, they're more comfortable. I don't have any regrets, I just wish I had more warning!

    April 2013 Post-Op Group

I was wondering if anyone had the Mirena, I had not had a cycle in years before I had the surgery. Then last week, boom!!!!! It lasted a whole week, I didn't even have supplies! LOL! I didn't expect this and the doctor didn't mention it.

    April 2013 Post-Op Group

It's weird, especially if you're used to going regularly. It took me 5days, and then it was in the evening. I felt so much better afterwards, but I never felt like I had to go. My nurses said it was normal, sometimes even 5-7 days for some people.

Yeah, my doctor gave me enough nausea meds to last for months! I used them a couple of times, since certain food smells were overwhelming when I first came home.
  5. This is crazy! I had my first outfits ready for my first day back at work. I thought I looked fine, they fit and I could button them no problem. Around lunchtime, my teacher assistant told me to please go shopping to find something that fits! She said she loved me and what I was doing but she didn't want me to keep hiding myself under those big clothes! I didn't realize I had already moved down from a 26/28 to 22!!!!!

    8 week checkup

Yeah, those foods go on the "no" list along with sugar, caffeine, carbonated drinks, juices and anything with sugar, and some dairy products except Greek yogurt. A coworker of mine had this done 2 yrs ago and she is now able to eat a little pasta, but only thin linguine or spaghetti.

    2 month post op pics

Wow, looking at your pictures makes me wish j took more. I never wanted to take pictures so the only ones I have are family pics where I hide behind other people or ones with my daughter because she made me take hem.

This is the only surgery I've ever had so I count myself lucky to not have the experiences you are all having with the pain. I haven't gone in for my checkup with the doctor yet but I'm ready to get back to work, and hope he will okay me next week. I'm a teacher so there's only a few weeks left. I am starting week 2 tomorrow post op and will do full liquids, looking forward to the shakes again. Get up and moving as soon ass soon as you can. Also try the foot and ankle exercises while you are sitting to avoid any clots. Good luck!

Hey everyone, I've been sleeping and trying to get rid of the gas! No pain, only the discomfort from not having a BM until tonite. Not really discomfort, just because I was so regular before I was freaking out a little. I'm going in tomorrow to the store to exchange some of the liquid stuff for more of the jello and/soup, I like those better. It makes you feel like you're eating something. Good luck to everyone this week and I look forward to hearing more from April Divas!

    Any NC peeps?

Hi, I am in Raleigh. I had my surgery on saturday, 4/13, so I'm home resting, or trying to! Its hard to be still when you are so used to doing several things in order to avoid being social. I had the best experience, my doctor is Dr. Bruce, with Bariatrics of NC, and I was at Rex Hospital. I haven't had too much pain, and now that I'm moving around, the gas is finally appearing. I'm glad I'm home! Follow the doctor's orders, I did to the tee, and I found it to be very helpful. The surgery was less than 2 hours, my family said, and the doctor updated them when I was finished. In Cary, there is a nutrition center on the bottom floor of my doctor's office and I picked up all my meals for week 1 and 2 post surgery, so I am set! Good luck! Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing or feeling.

Hey guys, at home just resting. Trying to get the liquids in. The "slim sack" I purchased from my doctor's office has so many protein options I might overdose!

    Feeling depressed

Hi, I am a teacher too. I tried to schedule around spring break, but missed that date. I hope you feel better before going back in, you know how important our job is? Well, your health is more important! We have got to take care of ourselves first, so we can create "all the other professions." Take care of yourself and feel better. My date is April 13th.

    April Dates

Hi, I'm new on here and my surgery date is April 13th. I did the 4 week liver shrinking diet so I start all liquids on Sunday. I was anxious about it because I've never had any type of surgery. I have a great doctor and a new support group and now you guys! It took years for me to decide, but here I am!
  18. Hi, I'm on week 2 of 4 shrinking liver diet. I usually try to do a shake every 4 hrs. and the Snacks every 2 hrs. The shakes keep me pretty full. Eating the crisps help with the desire to chew and crunch. I love crunchy foods! And I'm not talking celery either. This is going to be a life change from what I understand, so I'm trying to make it work! Good luck with your process, we can do it!!!
