Great job! I agree you should celebrate! Even if you have to do it alone! Remember you're not really alone, we are celebrating with you! ????

    What ya eating tonight?

Does anyone still wait 30 minutes after eating before drinking something? I know we did it in the beginning, but its a little tougher to do when you are eating more. I try to time my meals so I won't drink too soon.

    Pineapple... Ouch

I am only 3 months out, but after the 3 month checkup, I found out that most fruits are not our friends!! This is due to the high sugar content, even though its natural sugar. My nutritionist gave me this order: berries, nuts, bananas, peaches & plums(no skins), citrus, no segment skin, melons and then apples and pineapples. He said not to avoid them, but have them sparingly and you may have a bad reaction to them when you fruit and I try to eat it as often as I can or add it to a shake.
  4. I can too! But I think I'm addicted to it.

Did you eat regular bread or whole wheat? And did you toast it? I can only eat bread if its toasted, I'm afraid to try it soft.

Have you been eating fried fish? If so how far out are you? I've only done baked, steamed or sautéed with Pam. It almost tastes like its fried.

    What ya eating tonight?

I just had my 3month checkup as well, and was so surprised to hear about more stuff I shouldn't be having, or should be eating sparingly. That included cheese, even low fat. I have a cheese addiction!!!! I told them that I wrap it up in my deli ham or turkey, and I haven't had any problems. My Dr. Also suggested the fruit list: berries, bananas, peaches, plums, citrus, then apples, melons, etc. in that order, and the stuff on the end of the list should be close to never because of the sugar. I still have a shake for breakfast or lunch because its convenient and it helps get all the protein in. I get about 70 grams/day. If I fall short, I eat a Greek yogurt! I don't count the calories, because I'm focused on the protein and water.

I have the same problem with chicken, but just breast meat. If I do thigh meat it's fine. Funny, I tried the new grilled chicken wrap at McDonald's and had the same effect! Probably never again, and it was a quickie meal. I should've stuck to what I know works, Wendy's chili! It has never failed me in a pinch.

I was just thinking about that this morning while at the gym. I have always heard, "You are so pretty!" Well, I am waiting for someone to say, " You are sooooo beautiful! " I will find that man one day!!! Now that I am more confident!

    What ya eating tonight?

I just made a couple of turkey burgers and had about a cup of salad with balsamic dressing(reduced fat). It was pretty good, I have found out that certain cuts of beef is tough to handle, turkey is much better for me in the long run!

That's what I was going to suggest! Eat what you can no then make chicken salad or chicken tacos out of the rest of the chicken.

I have been worried about the hair loss as well. The nutritionist suggested biotin for that, and to decrease the heat use, coloring and perming/relaxing(in my case), and to condition it often. I don't know about different hair types but I think reducing those things may help. I hope someone else will reply, especially if you have black hair, and let me know what you are seeing with your hair and some suggestions. I've never done extensions, but my daughter does and it seems like a good idea.

    What ya eating tonight?

On the run this morning so I had the egg white mcmuffin from McD's, no cheese and no mcmuffin. It was okay. Tonite I'm trying the chicken tacos I made last nite but didn't have time to eat. Three ingredients: chopped chicken, cilantro and chipotle sauce(frontera). Put it on white corn tortilla with sour cream, shredded reduced fat cheese and avocado pieces.

Hi everyone, I'm Joyce and I am feeling like the old person in this group! You guys are so brave in taking on your lives before you get to the point of no return. That's the way I felt. I am 48 years old and had been comtemplating surgery for the past 4 years before I decided. When I finally decided, my doctor was like, I told you that you will never regret this decision. He said that, and I am taking his word for it! I haven't had any problems, except for an incident where I ate too much and threw up. I have a 25 year old daughter who just moved back home after graduating from college, she 's working and just bought her first car, so she's doing well. I am still trying to adjust to her being back home! She's my support system, though. I have always been heavier than most of my friends and all of my family. I am like some of you as I don't have a lot of photos before surgery, I hid myself very well. The final straw for me was looking at a family photo last Christmas. My entire family, siblings and parents, are all in the photo. I take up a considerable amount of the photo. Every time I look at that photo, I feel so many things. The one thing I felt the most was sadness. I finally diecided to bite the bullet and do it! I have been divorced for over 12 years and not dating because I am a workaholic, I stay away from people as much as possible. I teach students with mild-moderate disabilities, work with a young man who has Autism, and work part-time at Bath and Body works! Needless to say, I have mastered the art of being invisisble. Anyway, I am glad to have all of you and your support, I am so proud of all of you and how well you're doing. Keep up the good work!
