    GERD is GONE!

Really? I haven't heard of any with gerd after gastric bypass. I've seen a ton of sleeve patients that it made it horrible...but not bypass. I'm so glad it helped mine and didn't make it worse.

    Traveling

What do you mean? My surgery was 120 miles from me. I was in the hospital for 2 1/2 days....I think. Honestly it was a wonderful time of Morphine pumps *oh how i miss that * and a fling with versed... but I traveled home on the 3rd day by car. I wish I'd had a pillow to hug but it wasn't that bad.
  4. Heaven help me...ribs are a weakness of mine. I might even say my favorite food. I'm a huge fan of BBQ. This is what I'm getting next weekend. Luckly I don't have a doctor that limits beef and pork.
  5. I made chili for the first time since surgery and even though I tried to make it super mild...it still seemed spicy. BUT, it seems to be sitting well! 3 oz. No cheese, no sour cream I had lite and fat free versions but didn't want to waste time yet on all that. I tried 2 crackers...but they seemed stale so I gave up on them.
  6. I bought a commercial grade elliptical off craigslist when a gym closed. I'm 2 months out. I do 30-45 minutes of intense cardio. Then I try to tone with hand weights. I suck at it though. I need to get better about the toning.

    New here :-)

welcome! I put gas x in one end and suppositories in the other. It's not sexy or something you really want to share on the internet...but it helped me so much. I now have a whole container of the glycerin darlings in my medicine chest.

lol, EXACTLY! I can't have gum or coconut. My doctor had to go in and fix one that had a coconut ball that had formed that kept stopping up the pouch. I had my surgery 4/1. On 6/1 I was on regular diet. It says "Introduce new foods with caution" and my doctor is all about everything in moderation. I was told no peanut butter when they saw it in my journal and was told to use pb2 instead. Just till I'm goal. Oh...and not food with the peel on until a year out. So if it has a peel, I need to peel it first. Right now I'm eating light and fit greek blends banana cream yogurt and I put strawberries I had lightly chopped and put spelda in mixed through it. It's delightful. Another person that had it done told me they couldn't have raw strawberries until a YEAR out. I dunno. I've had no issues. I had cocoa covered almonds yesterday. (I kind of wish I hadn't. They were just so darn good.)
  10. No. You should follow your doctors orders. Every time I wanted to eat *it was all head hunger btw. all those nerves were cut, I didn't actually have REAL hunger* I put it in perspective. I would tell myself something like this: I had 5 holes cut in me, a camera tunneled and long tubes were inserted. My stomach had a pouch cut out and the entire remainder was shoved over and my intestine was pulled up, cut, attached in two places and then sewn back together. The puree stage is to give all that time to heal.

See, and this seems like a lot of trouble for you. Different doctors different rules. I took a full pain pill 2 days after surgery. I was sent home taking pills. No crushing or dissolving. I did dissolve some of the pain pills just because they worked quicker.

measuring cup for liquids. Scales for solids is what I was told. ??? you're right. Too many different rules.
  13. I took out the amounts on there because I'm not sure. It had different information on different sites. Blah. It's still good and still high protein!
  14. I found Jenny-O Turkey and gravy in a roasting pan. I'm really diggin it. 3 oz

My scale, if I turn it on with the plate on it is on 0.00. That way I can just load it up until 3 oz

also a good point. Mine at the beginning had to be thinned with chicken stock, so they were more like potato soup.

    lost and confused

Are you making sure you take your vitamins and that you get enough water and protein? You can also take Biotin for the hair loss. I don't feel tired...my surgery was 4/1. I actually have MORE energy.

    Constipation

I have regular movements....it's just they are so PAINFUL. I really didn't expect to go into this much detail about my poo until I was much older. I'm hoping by working in more fiber and continuing with the softeners....that maybe it will become something I don't DREAD quite so much. Right now I'm like...I have to go... and I sadly walk to the bathroom. It's horrifying.

Okay, here is where someone has to say "measure your food" and then also say, there is a difference in soft food and dense food. I can eat 2.5-3 oz of dense food. For example: roast beef or chicken with cheese. That's it. If I eat more, I'm sure I'd throw up. I can eat an entire 5 oz container of yogurt though. With no feelings of discomfort. I've eaten more than that in yogurt. I had a 6 oz container one day. Why? It's soft and like liquid, it moves quickly through my pouch with no worries. So, the "soft" food...like Soup or liquefied stuff or potatoes...it's not dense food so you can eat more without discomfort. I felt "really full" from a few bites when I first started eating. So I'm not sure you're actually overeating. It's not like you just ate 4 oz of dense Protein and I don't worry about finishing off a container of yogurt. If it's a solid food, I measure and don't eat over the amount.

    measuring food

I weigh all mine on the scale and measure liquids. it seems to work the best for me. I even premeasure my lunch and such for work and all my snacks.

    Constipation

Tomorrow I'm going to use 1/2 tablespoon in 4 ounces of ice cold Water. I'll drink that before it gets too bad and then repeat it. That way I get the whole dose and don't end up with that mess today. It's not bad when it's cold!

    post op medication

Before surgery, I took a liquid Multivitamin, a zantac and one synthroid. Since surgery: 3 Calcium chews a day, two chewable Multivitamins, 1 stool softener, 1 zantac, 1 synthroid, and one Vitamin d that I take once a week. Also, Protein supplements in shake form and now Fiber. I had a pain pill also upon leaving the hospital. The most pain in the arse thing about it all is that the calcium can't be taken near the vitamin or the synthroid and the vitamin can be taken near the synthroid...or the calcium. And of course the synthroid can be taken around anything. So it's a constant battle in this timeline that also includes getting enough Water,
  23. I had my first Emerald Cocoa covered almonds since surgery. I'm needing more fiber and they have protein. I'm in love.

    Constipation

Ugh, I went ahead and tried it Rem. SoccorMomma and I have the same surgeon. But that shiz is shaz nasty. Gross. I hate thick drinks. It's the issue I'm having with shakes and now the fiber drink. The taste isn't bad...but the longer it sits, the thicker it gets. In the beginning it was okay closing my eyes and pretending it was pulpy orange juice. 15 minutes in though, it was orange flavored slime covered in sludge. GROSS. But if it works, I'll choke it down. It made me full too.

    Constipation

That's exactly what I bought. I just haven't asked, but if you take it, I'm not going to mess with the patient hub! I was just making sure it was okay.
