He did mine April 1st! It's going okay.
-
......a whole lean pocket? I don't think you should be able to do that! Have you talked to your surgeon or nut yet?
-
Hm. Maybe mine will do it later. I'll ask at my follow up visit@!! thank you. Yes, I'm nervous about the gallbladder issue.

Average loss on the liquid diet
Nel replied to MrsLulu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 22 pds. I was on HMR shakes for 11 days pre op. But you can't judge your weight by others. My surgeon said 10-20 pounds. -
Yeah, they have them at walmart. That's not whey isolate. (i don't think. I think that's why I skipped them)
-
I didn't have one. I was curious about that, but my doc doesn't do it.

Need snappy come back line
Nel replied to music1618's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have one that is probably 40 pounds overweight and she thinks everyone is too skinny. It's her idea of beauty. More a Lane Bryant beauty than a high fashion beauty and for years, that satisfied me when I managed to get down to it. But I'm going out of pocket 12k to be healthy on this and I'm pretty sure it's going to get me past LB beauty to high fashion beauty, even if I have skin to cover. You know, since I haven't been that small since high school. I'm going to tell her I paid good money to be thin and I'll go as far as I want with it and if she can't support me in my journey, then to step aside. If it gets too bad, I'll tell her that I understand she likes chubby girls, being one herself and that there's nothing wrong with that, but it's sizist to not like skinny ones. I cannot wait to possibly be able to call myself skinny. Or you could just grin, adjust your clothes in utter happiness and say THANK YOU!!! -
Sucessful Pre-Op weight loss concern
Nel replied to Cherry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You managed to keep with the diet, not cheat too bad, and lose it because you knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. If you're like me. If you're like me, then you've successfully lost and gained 100s of pounds over the years and always managed to end up heavier than ever. That's the definition of yoyo dieting. Here's a link to my blog about all the reasons I did this http://nellasnails.blogspot.com/2013/03/gastric-bypass.html If you want to delay surgery and then revisit it, do that. This is a huge life changing step. You will never be the same. Ever. That's what I like about it. -
Oh, and we think mine was from when they put the tube down my throat and that I had dried blood I ingested with my ice chips and that my stomach rejected it.
-
Right after my surgery, the next day when they gave me ice chips, I spit up a mouthful of blood. It flipped me out so bad. I hope you hear something good. If they don't call soon, I'd head to ER. Don't let anyone that doesn't have experience with your surgery scope you.

So, where were you sore after surgery? I have pain right in the middle über the rib age. You know, if you drew a line from one nipple to the other, my sore spot would be in the middle of that line, about 1 inch down. Is that normal? Is that my pouch?

What kind of discomfort did you have?
Nel replied to Nel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate less than one medicine cup which is 2 tablespoons. Maybe a little over 1. I got the ninja at walmart. It came with the pitcher and the small food chopper. I dig it. Each has 2 blades and really pulverizes anything I need it to. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-Master-Prep-Food-Processor/14895654 I just had my first sneeze. It was as bad as I feared. -
Mood swings during pre-op diet?
Nel replied to Barbara's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mister declared me a crazy a$$ psycho bit#h and I didn't blame him. He shouldn't have cooked that spaghetti. Sauteing onions and garlic in olive oil like I taught him. IN MY OWN KITCHEN. I'll take the names since I think my head might have spun around a few times...he was lucky to leave alive. -

Ha! lol I took 1 tablespoon of 98% FF refried beans, 2 teaspoons of FF sour cream and shredded cheddar and put it through the Ninja and heated it in the micro. It was delish. I had to fight the cats for it. That's okay though, I'm on top of the catarchy in my crib and ate my beans as they watched. Pfft, not like I didn't open fancy feast first thing this morning. I DID let them have the last half since I didn't eat it all. -
The dehydration is one thing...but caffeine also blocks the absorption of calcium, which I find even more worrisome. So if you drink caffeine items you need to time them and keep them away from your calcium supplements..

My temp is staying in the 96 range. I think it's because of my period also

I'm the same! http://pinterest.com/nellabean/ Here's me!

Yep. I'm in bed right now. I finally left the house to walk. I'd been just walking in the house. I feel accomplished, but that's about it. I live in this bed right now. I can't imagine the people that wen't back to work in a week. Nu uh.
-
Oh, and I haven't returned yet. I scheduled 3 weeks off.
-
My doctor let me shower the next day. I did a quick clean up that day and showered the one after. You have a catheter and an iv. So, I waited till I had both out before I did. You could always ask to have your iv removed to shower.....they can just pull the iv off while leaving the port thing in. *this is all dependent on if it's laproscopic and if you have the steristrips.

How can I tell I'm full? How do I know if I'm drinking slow enough?
Nel replied to Nel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How far out are you? -
Hon....it's not even been 3 months....right? I mean...when else have you lost 20 pounds a month? You're doing ridiculously good. Sure you want to lose it in the honeymoon period...but you have less stress and more time for your skin to bounce back if it's nice and steady. To lose a pound it takes 3500 calories burned. Maybe it takes your body a few days to do that. I think you're fine. You can't judge yourself for succeeding Which I think you're doing.
