I don't know...but it's a huge fear of mine. I would think....eating a measured amount. After a year it's supposed to "mature" to hold 6 to 8 oz at a time.

I now hate them. I'm on unjury exclusively. I didn't like the juice ones before surgery and I hate them now. The others are just too sweet...so. You can buy a trial pack for like $14 online.

DaVinci gourmet sugar free syrups
Nel replied to terry1118's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have pumpkin pie, peppermint, coconut, almond, butterscotch and caramel. In the torini I have chocolate, hazelnut, raspberry and vanilla. The only one I don't use in yogurt is my peppermint and I made a chocolate peppermint protein shake the other day. T'was good. I also like the pumpkin in my vanilla shakes with a touch of caramel. -
I didn't go for over a week. Finally happened. Now no matter what I do, I have to use a softener.

What ya eating tonight?

I'm still pretty fresh on the surgery...my newest favorite is Fage Total 2% plain yogurt with raspberry Torini sugar free syrup. it's delightfullness and luckily, I seem to have no issues with milk products. -
You can find one that isn't too obvious and that says "check wallet" or "info". I've been shopping around. I don't want to announce my surgery...but I don't want any issues cuz I didn't have one. I'm thinking of just finding a regular medical alert "heart" and having gastric bypass engraved on the back. It can go on my regular charm bracelet.

Is it the whey isolate that we need? I've yet to find pure whey isolate at Walmart?
-
I did at first but not now. Mine was April 1st. I'm now having no problems getting fluids in and I can drink regularly and I prefer it ice cold. So. It took me a few weeks. I can't guzzle...but I can drink, not sip. Just give it time

I'm going to need an arm job. But lets face it...before you lost the weight, did you feel comfortable in short sleeve or sleeveless? I don't. I always wear elbow length or 3/4 sleeves.

Bypass. It would suck to have two surgeries and I've seen too many people not be successful with the sleeve. Plus, I heard that acid reflux is horrible.

So, I found this YOUTUBE channel. It's kind of amazing

It has all different bloggers that discuss WLS and things to eat and all kinds of stuff. Sorry if this has been posted before. i've spent hours watching them today. http://www.youtube.com/user/Back2BasicsWLS/videos -
How much do you'll eat at a time? I'm 5 weeks out.
-
Bariatric advantage sent me a sample pack for free. I just called and said I was having a gastric bypass. They have delightful calcium chews...as far as free protein samples, I don't know of any

Yes. I irritated my pouch early out with spaghetti sauce over ricotta cheese. Don't eat rotel and see if it goes away. Mine can now handle mild salsa

Oh, and I just broke a 14 day stall. Maybe 15. I'd have to check

I have a bestie 6 years post op. she eats normally. She just eats about 1/2 what a regular person eats. She eats sugar on occasion but her body prefers raw sugar and honey. And she doesn't eat a lot of it. I understand wanting to know that someday you might get a treat.

Please call your doctor. I've never had pain eating

I drink before meals. You will never be allowed to drink during or after. It washes all your food out of your pouch and can cause dumping. you have a hole at the bottom of your pouch. You move it through too quick with drinking right after and force all the food into the small intestine.

What are you eating? pureed food is like...cream of broccoli soup put in a blender. Not a lot of spices or seasonings.

I found these awesome parents choice toddler things. Cheddar cheese little munchers baked whole grain snack. I dipped them in hummus. 18 of them have 30 calories and 5 grams of carbs. They just kinda dissolve...but super crunchy. So it gave me that crunchy chip/cracker hummus experience. It's pretty awesome. Don't know if they're the best choice, but they certainly aren't bad. -
3 days or something like that for insurance to approve me and then they almost scheduled me a week later...but I needed more time to work out work issues.
-
I've noticed it some. Let's just hope they never have stomach cancer or an issue that damages that sleeve too bad and have no stomach left to turn to. Also, it has a higher failure rate *especially those that have no dumping cuz you can wash down a pack or oreos. Everyone makes their own choice and we've seen several sleeve to rny revisions. It's not that the sleeve is a bad procedure. They just don't get that metabolic reset and malabsorbtion that someone with my issues needs. I was not a candidate for sleeve or band. Just switch or Rny. And switch is supposedly the best.

Good luck to everyone having surgery this upcoming week! I found a ton of bakeable, freezable, and microwavable dishwasher safe 4 oz ramikins at walmart. I have 10. This is the best thing I ever bought. I put beans, mushroom soup, brocolli soup, brocolli and cheese soup and so on in the oven then eat them for lunch and dinner. it helps. I also hit 299 this morning! My 15 day stall ended 2 days ago and I'm down 3 more pounds. This is the first time I've been under 300 in 5 years!!!! I also found little plastic plates and little tiny bowls at walmart. Now if I could just find some decent, without princesses or cars, toddler silverware!

NEED HELP WITH FULL LIQUID STAGE ASAP
Nel replied to IChatman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You put chicken and veggies in a pot and simmer FOREVER until it starts physically breaking down into flavored water. Season with salt and such. Then you pour it through a strainer or cheesecloth.
