  1. Oh Phyl, Now I have this vision of tissues blossoming out of a Kleenex box, floating gently in the pool. Great! It's in the 70s today (ok, so it's not the 90s -- plahhh aka "Bronx Cheer") so maybe I'll walk outside before the whole gang leaves and I'm the only one babysitting the systems. Later gang, Car
  2. Hey there Peach, Feel free to leave one of those at the house. Color scheme = green, white, black, gold. Marine theme would be nice. Are you counting the days? Where is my Steph? I knew I smelled that roast in the east-bound winds. We just had glazed brisket with roast potatoes. Not even St. P's day yet. Temp in the high 60's today. Yes, this is Denver in March. Love to ya all. Car
  3. I'm always up for travel as long as it's pretty short (< 1 week). I save my long trips for you-know-where. I know where Candice is going. I know where Candice is going and she's not taking us! Soooo, what are you going to bring us back? Huh? Hey gang, maybe Peaches would just get toooo lonely without us and maybe we should all surprise her with a group visit on HER vacation? We could sleep on the floor. No, huh. I think I just heard a definite "no" from our northern-most member. Did you know that the lapband procedure originated in Lyon France? This typing in the dark on this tinsey keyboard ain't my idea of bedtime fun. Guess I'll curl around my Brittany girl-dog and catch some zzzzzs. Night girls. Luv, Car
  4. Have you considered Ebay or Craig's List for something new-used? Exercisingly yours, Car
  5. Hi Gang, The lapbandtalk server was weird yesterday. Not available much in the afternoon, which, as you can see, is when I have time to log on. For those of you who are having problems changing colors and fonts after you write your message, try selecting both before you start writing and you don't have to worry about those accidental slips which kill the whole conversation. Got on the scale yesterday after my early morning exercise and I was up 4 lbs.....sound familiar? I think I cheated before my last formal weigh-in by donating blood in the morning. Hey, what can I tell ya? I know every trick in the book. But cake and pies are now definitely off the menu, and I am measuring the amount of Slow Churned Ice Cream before I add it to my dinner protein shake. We were supposed to train dogs this Saturday (good for 5000 steps), but our big boy Bobby aggravated the paw he injured last week by hunting too long. He hadn't been out in the field for several weeks and my husband just got too enthusiastic running down errant pheasants. The Bobs just doesn't know how to lie down and woof "enough". Our hunting tests start up again in April and we would like to get both pups finished as "Junior Hunters" ASAP. To me, dog training is a much more fun way to exercise than walking on my treadmill (although I still do that with my girl-pup Ruth Anne Magilicutty). Better emulate work. Hugs to all, Car
  6. Phyl, Ain't it great to be "seat-size" on an airplane and not have the person next to you staring like you're a serial killer?! Luv, Car
  7. I was field training dogs on Saturday with friends and discovered that my girlfriend's husband is just as clueless and just as much a believer in the superiority of the male (he is always right) mind as my DH. Ach, they must all have been spoiled by their mothers. Of course, my DS is perfect!
  8. Indie, 5 miles!!! Way to Go! Have you ever figured up your total to see how far around the world you would go? Also, I kind'a like the idea of hugging prior to any parting, even the bathroom. You can never tell. Look at Elvis. Chim, Our first preggie in our midst! Now we can have a Lucky 7 Band Baby! Congrats!. Steph, It is going to be in the 50s today in metro Denver, but the Western mountains are having a nice snow season. It actually rained at our house yesterday. The rest of you ladies, think healthy thoughts. Better get back to work. It's almost lunch time. Later and big hugs,
  9. Good afternoon, mon cherie Steph, Thanks for that link. I just got wrapped up in the holiday blues. My husband's family is so strange per their disregard for birthdays and holidays, Valentines' Day inclusive. Some days I just need a huge hug and John (DH) is clueless as to other people's needs. In the not so distant past, sociologists would have called his family dysfunctional. At least this hasn't rubbed off on my son (DS), but he's 1500 miles away at Penn State (the university, not the penitentiary). Obviously, I came from a family of huggers and birthday-rememberers (is that a word?). Culture clash? Nah, everyone needs to be special at least one a year! Enough of that! I had my itsy bitsy unfill just about a month ago. My doctor is only a 15 minute drive away from work, so it is really easy to get gently tweaked. I'm just so pleased with where I am now, but (and that is a little "but"), it is way easy to play food quality games, even with this constriction, e.g. having my night-time protein shake made with low-cal chocolate ice cream and low-fat milk, rather than low-fat milk alone. Thow in a frozen ripe banana, and I'm in banders' heaven! Maybe, I'll pick up some more Dryer's Slow Churned on the way home...... Now, the big BUT (note, that is "but", not "butt'). We were cruising through some funiture stores yesterday when I passed a mirror propped on the floor and wondered at the nicely shaped legs of the person passing by. IT WAS ME!! Now, the stilettos heels certainly helped, but I was impressed. Love and BIG HUGS to ALL!!!! Car:tt1:
  10. Steph, Well, that just does it!!! Size 2! Size 4! When I was anorexic (sp) in college I wore a size 7! I think I'll take my size 8/10 body over to the corner and suck my thumb (better that than eating a chocolate bar). I'm 5'5" and the only time I'll ever see a size that small is before they cremate my dead body. Big Hug, Car
  11. Hi Candice,

I'm back in the saddle again (so to speak).

That web site is No. 7 Promenade .

Feel free to write to me directly at conroemcm@gmail.com . I never fade out on my email.

Better get over to L7 before I get the Bronx Cheer.

    Hug

    Car

  12. Hi Girls, Just a real quickie before I run to have my chin lasered again. I am SOOOO happy with my current band fill I could s**#&!! Just catches me right. Now, if my sister-in-law would not bake any more of those yummie chocolate cookies. Karrie, hang in there. When you get to that sweet spot, it's so nice. Steph, te amo! Thanks for the mail. Hope the kiddies are better. Hugs to everyone Car
  13. Wow!! All quiet on the western front! It's DH's 60th tomorrow and I'm not allowed to celebrate it. Unfortunately, he doesn't remember to celebrate my birthday either. From a strange family. Oh well, my son, who was born the day after my birthday, and I celebrate each other's. DH will get excited about getting DS a great gift, but totally blows mine off. What would Freud say? Better get back to monitoring the systems.
  14. Steph, while you're cleaning yours could I convince you to do a once-over-quickly on mine. It's such a wreck! And 3 dogs' worth of fur doesn't help much. How is the body feeling? IB seems to work best when I need a pain killer and is also an anti-inflammatory. Watch the stomach, though. I once had to do 7 in order to walk off of a bird field. Worked great. Rx strength is 5. So you ladies tore up LV??!? Well, I never....
  15. My G-d, Karrie!! Are you sure you're still alive? It sounds like you're in need of some real TLC! ....And that utility bill is unreal! There is something to be said for heating with home-grown firewood. Please, please, please take care of yourself! I've had an overly tight band and although it was the pits, I milkshaked through it until I got back to the states and got it adjusted. Be gentle with yourself. You deserve it!!:cursing:
  16. No sympathy for the "going to Las Vegas" work that you have lined up. This Break Pal Cardio is working out pretty neat. Kind of marshal arts moves done quickly. After you exercise as long as you want, it waits 30 minutes, then moves you on to the next exercise. Nifty.
  17. Wow, just did a Quick post and the forum ate it alive! I was just saying how quiet it is in forum land, but maybe it's the system? I'm trying a new daily exercise system called Break Pal Cardio, which is kicked off by my computer at 30 minute intervals. Each session runs about 5 minutes. I'll let you know how it goes.
  18. Wow, it's really quiet out there! Where is everyone? I can't believe that my friend to whom I apologized during and after the Tuesday party(a former psychologist) is making me jump through hoops to regain her good graces. I'm just too weary to play.... I'm trying a new exercise program called Break Pal Cardio which parcels out exercises into 5 min. intervals every 30 minutes during the work day. I'll let you know how it works.
  19. Lurk-lurk! Finally got back to the site. Went to an Obama party after work last night and kinda' fell apart. Almost fled the restaurant. Not sure if it was the noise level or the crowd or just too tired to party well. Had to email a very good friend and apologize for being so @#$%% rude. My after work activities (after our 1 hr drive home) usually amount to feeding the dogs, making a protein shake, and heading in the general direction of bed. I try to not even answer the phone, if I can get away with it. Better hit the trail. DH is home sick (doesn't believe in flu shots, so now he's got the flu). Bought him some more tissues with lotion, so maybe he'll stop using tp to wipe his snoot. Hasta la vista.
  20. A real live lemon tree! Think I need to come for a visit. When we get the garden redone on our house, we are putting in some lemon trees in large pots (can be moved in the winter out of the wind), I know that it's silly, but DH and I have dreamed of a home with lemon trees outside. I'm with you, but a squeeze of lemon or lime in some red wine can be very nice.
  21. Hi Steph, Size 8!!! Way to go, you petite thing you! Ain't this waist thing the pits! Whose waists are the stinkn' clothes supposed to fit, anyway? And jeans, r.i.g.h.t.......my cuffs drag on the ground even with 4" heals and I'm 5'5". They fit great though the legs, and then the waist.......sure.... So, what I do now is order my good pants from a company that makes them custom for a lot less than I can buy them Makeyourownjeans.com, Custom Jeans | Designer Jeans . Before you poo, poo the idea, what would you give for a pair of pants made to your measurements that strangers compliment you on? I love "skinny" jeans (since we can now wear them without bulges, etc.), but can only find them in low rise. I have them made with stretch denim (like the expensive jeans) to fit a natural waist and to blouse exactly the way that I want. I think that they run $45ish. They do a wide selection of styles, colors and finishes. They even do custom shirts (haven't tried that one yet) for about $25. When I hit a size 10, I treated myself to several pairs of designer jeans, whose cost shall remain nameless. I now only wear them in a pinch (figuratively). Well, better get back to protecting the country.:yikes:
  22. Uhhhh, I would if I could, but I can't so I won't. Considering that I just got back from being away and spending beau coup Euros on a new wall and gates for the house over there, no way jose. BUT (notice, that's a big but) the next time can certainly be on the radar.
  23. Yahoo!!! Way to go!! Don't ya feel great!! It is so hard to imagine what is was like to carry all that extra weight around. I think we should be given a sack equal to those lost pounds to help us remember how bad it really was. xxoxo
  24. Denver => LV $216 and I've seen it cheaper (probably in summer) Feeling really good after unfill, good constriction but no PBing or acid reflux. Now, I no longer have an excuse for not exercising. Always do yoga first thing in the morning, but kinda leaves a lot lacking in the aerobic realm. Better get back to work protecting the security of our nation's dams (well, actually protecting the security of the administrative systems for our nation's dams).
  25. Now, I'm not sarcastic, just have a very dry sense of humor. Just the result of being brought up on the east coast. Maybe I could go with facetious. Had 0.25 ml taken out yesterday and feel a bunch better today. NP was very concerned about my PBing and I have to report back to them tomorrow. Also, got around to asking about life after I hit goal weight. It's a good thing I get along with the medical practice as we will be up-close-and-personal until my death bed. I get to be my weight monitor, but if my ounces even think of reappearing, the needle gets whipped out again. Vegas is just a plane hop away on a usually fairly cheap flight. Hummmmm. Nap time. Later, guys.
