  1. Hey there My surgeon told me that in addition to gbp she's also gonna repair the umbilical hernia that I apparently have. She assured me it wasn't anything too complex, "just one stitch". But apparently that one stitch is gonna cause me significantly more pain. In addition to the pain I'm already gonna experience from the gbp. Wonderful. And to make matters worse, I'm psyching myself out. Again. I of course googled what an umbilical hernia repair entails, and I found all these stories about people that come back from umbilical hernia repair without belly buttons!! And needless to say, I would like to keep mine. Anyone else have an umbilical hernia repair during their gbp? If so, do you still have a belly button (lol) ?
  2. Hey everyone I had mentioned this in another post, but for some reason my surgeon didn't put me on a pre-op diet. They said I can eat normally, but lightly, the day before the surgery, and nothing after midnight. I don't think this is how it's usually done. Has anyone else not had a pre-op diet?

Good luck!! I wish you all the best! I was thinking I would have to wear a shaper cami or something, so I'm glad to see that's normal lol. I might have to look into that "skin wrap" thing too. And another thing... My surgeon isn't putting me on a pre-op diet for some reason. They just said I should eat lightly the day before. Does/did anyone else not have to do a pre-op diet? I feel like everything about my situation is abnormal lol

Disregard this one, I messed up on it lol
  6. Hi all Ok so I'm kinda new to this forum and new to using forums in general so be nice lol. I was approved for lap RNY a few weeks ago (took long enough lol) and for some reason I have a distinct lack of excitement. Is this normal? I guess I still believe it's not going to happen. My family keeps trying to reassure me, but for some reason its still not sinking in. It's strange, I even have a date and everything (June 18th, 2013). Maybe I'll be more excited when the date gets closer... Despite this, I was worried about some things. The number one that scares me about this surgery is being left with great billowing folds of skin afterwards. I saw pics on google and now I'm terrified lol... Will this happen to me? I am pretty young (turned 18 last December). Any help is appreciated <3
