It is nice to read people are still support each other on here. I also agree with all of you that this surgery is amazing but not easy. Summer is here and now more challenges of missing the bbq burgers and all that good food that goes with it. The one thing that keeps me feeling great is knowing how much I have lost and how great I feel so that makes the mind not feel so depressed when I see people eating all that fattening food. Reading all your posts makes me so proud of everyone on here and all that we have all gone through and all that we will go through for the rest of our lives. Congrats to all of you for the great decisions we have made to make our lives for the better.

I am with all of you guys too had my surgery nov 28 2013 and still not meat except sandwich ham and turkey bacon, which none are good for me..I have a friend who live same town as I and she had it done 5 years ago and still can't each much meat, not even turkey. Our doctor told her the reason we cant eat much meat period is because not of the size or texture it is because they have so much protien our little pouches get full with such small amounts. i have been finding tiny wraps fun and good to eat. Makes you feel like at least you are a bit normal. Another thing i do is make mini pizza with the little wraps using cottage cheeze or salsa sauce and anything else you can handle.

dang this site is great you all have such wonderful ideas. snow is melting like crazy now and wow it feels so much better doing house work without those 80lbs hanging on me. I am so happy to be alive and getting healthier every day. I too worry about my protien and vitamins my hair is falling out like crazy which sort of is ok because i have a mop for hair. But other then that i feel great i think anyway lol...

    Post op diet stages

yes same here. I have a friend here in town that had her surgery five years ago and she was telling me she still has trouble with meat. The doctor told her it is because it is such high protien and sits in our pouchs so heavy it feels awful. She still goes back to her cottage cheese and yogurts and liquids just to get those feelings out of her pouch. I haven't been eating great not getting in my calories and oh lord i am horrible at my Vitamins, I hate taking pills so it is hard for me to remember these dang things.

holly crap you lady's make me laugh tonight....reading all these posts I got behind...anyway just wanted to also congrats everyone for all those little awww moments you are all having with your weight loss...plus you know we all have our anger moments and so glad you all hashed it out and over came them on here. We all need each other to support or bad moments on here and our great ones. This is still a trying time for each other so we all still are lucky to have one another to understand we might not always be happy on here or understand ourselves. We are like a tight knit family that really most people wont understand who dont have to have this surgery. For me it looks like i have no choice but to shop soon running out of old or small clothes to wear. Put on jeans i kept for 15 years and now they are almost too big...woot woot.

What's up? Isn't this site designed for us to bare our souls, our goals, our frustrations, and our progress. I have never hidden the fact that I have had other surgeries before I was converted to RNY in December. I have posted several times my ordeals that I went through and all the complications that I endured during the time from September to December. I have been honest with everyone since I joined the December thread that it was okay with them that I was even on this thread. I have major medical problems just like many others that have had their surgery. I have Fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, adrenal insufficiency, and immune deficiency to just name a few of the big ones. I am still dealing with those issues today. They are slightly better but not much. If anything they were all stirred up up after each of the surgeries that I couldn't get out of the bed for weeks. I was a ticking time bomb with my health. I truly believe that if I wouldn't have had the surgery when I did that I would not be here today! Now am I asking for a pitty party. Hell no! I am a nurse and I worked 60+ hours a week as a charge nurse of a private surgery center. Unfortunately I was taken out of work in June by my doctors because they were scared for my health. But hopefully one day I will start to feel even better as more of this weight comes off that I can return to the job that I love. I know that many of you on this thread also have major medical issues as well. And I know for fact that everyone on this thread has a weight problem. That's how we all got to where we are know. We have all tried crazy diet after crazy diet with some success here and there but nothing long term or you wouldn't be on this site. This site is for positive people with positive feedback. We can say things on here and everyone knows exactly what we are talking about instead of trying to explain it to someone who doesn't understand because they are not going through it. I don't care if you post on here that you lost one pound or if you lost 50 pounds. I am going to congratulate you and say keep up the good work. We have all fought the weight loss battle for many years and that's why we are joined together on this site. I will admit that the battle is a lot easier with having the RNY but none the less that has still been a battle. I don't know about you but it sure has helped me in my battle to have all the feedback from different people. I would much rather go into a battle with an army on my side instead of being the one that wants to point a finger and be alone, jealous, or bitter. I'm just doing the best I can with the tools that the doctors gave me and I will always be available for positive feedback with a positive attitude. Thanks! I am so with you on this...I think we are all rockin it out and this site is so helpful...vent, party, celebrate, congratulate...but dont judge...high fives

Nice to see I am not the only one who is having a hard time putting on smaller clothes. I still havent bought anything new and my daughters keep telling me I have too. I too still see the fat that is still there and not what I have lost. I think in time we will get past that feeling, but it is still to knew for all of us. I think just maybe when we have got to our goals we might feel better then we do right now. One thing it sure is a great feeling knowing those clothes dont fit anymore though. Now just to figure out what size a person is ....

I tried the lean meals and they made me sick. I find stuff with sauce make me sick most times. I was also told not to eat pasta because it can get all gloopy in your pouch and hurt. I am finding i am getting sick alot lately so going to call my nurse and see if maybe i am pushing myself too fast of foods. Also i am glad you said something about slow weight lose and skin you made my day. I was worried about how slow i am right now but thinking about skin shrinkage makes it ok for me now..thanks.

I am glad you are all posting on here more. I have also been only loosing a bit then nothing. I try and eat the 75 protien and i am too only getting maybe 800 cal. I guess it is better then going up but was so exciting to loosing fast to nothing much is kinda disappointing. I also have bathroom issues compared to before i had surgery. I almost feel like going back to liquids for a few weeks just to get a jump on the weight loss again.

Try living up here in the winter i use oils in the bath water and drink as much as i can. I was told not enough protien will make skin dry and hair fall out.

When I first went on this site I went back and read everything from the first post, some stuff helps to read and gives allot of ideas and information. It is wonderful to have people to talk to going through the same thing as you are and be there to ask questions when you need to.

I think some people do. I know I had something fixed in my throat while he also did the surgery. Plus he gave me some pills to help that situation. The nurse told me some people have to take these pills all the time.

In canada where i live we have ideal protein i am going to look into tomorrow see if it is near the same as what you all have down there. I am only working on my three months so still not able to eat too much real food but getting better. So the more protein i can find else where the better.

hi everyone...i have just read what you all are worried about. I am from Canada Alberta. From what I have read I was wondering what you all drink for fluids. My Doctor warned me that most people will gain weight from this surgery from what they drink. With the carbination part what I was told it wasnt that it would stretch it would just make you gain weight and can maybe damage the staple at early healing and could also cause pain. I was also told to keep the sugar under 7 gr per item. I had my operation nov 28th of 2013 and i loose at least two lbs a week with no excersize but what i do at work. The doctor also said we need to make sure we have our Water to keep loosing the weight. Caffine will make you dehydrated to avoid this also. I know some have gone to drinking glurcerna for a few weeks to get back on track. Hope these help you all a bit.

hi everyone had my operation now two months ago trying to do normal food and having some issues knowing what I can eat, Like some of you some days I can eat it the next i am sick. I think some are right I do eat too fast some times. I think it is important to make sure we pay attention when we eat and the time it takes us. I do know one thing dont try lobster...it is too much like steak texture and wow was I sick..
