One Week post op appointment and soft foods
califmomto4 replied to Princess Sarah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had any problems with foid but I've played it safe! I went from liquid to puree. I stuck with greek yogurt, tuna fish, occasional refried Beans. When I went to "soft" foods...I ate a lot if fish. -

Where heavy clothes next time you have to go weigh in. Jeans, sweater & tennis shoes? -
I don't eat chobani ( the ones I have found all seem to be high in sugar) but I do use the Fage 0% plain and I add a bit of berries and some Kashi go lean crunch Cereal on top. In the first few weeks post op I used to add some PB 2 to the plain yogurt so that could have something that wasn't so sweet. Mixed in some sugar free jelly and its like PB&J without the bread.

califmomto4 replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Reposting!! CW 225.6. Apparently I shouldn't weigh in the middle of the night when I can't sleep! I like this number better! -

How about some NSVs!?!?
califmomto4 replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep..especially since I got all 3 for under $30! That never would happen at Lane Bryant! I tried on about 8 pairs and was able to buy what I liked vs what just fit! -

My supply of pants is running out. I just went browsing through the clearance racks and picked up 2 pairs of jeans & a pair of denim capris in a size 16. (They are snug...but they zipped! And there is not a W after the 16. Highest size was 24!!) -

What ya eating tonight?
califmomto4 replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
FYI...the Think Thin Brownie Crunch protein bar does not taste like a brownie nor is it crunchy. -
I know everyone has different instructions for sugar/carbs/sugar alcohols etc. I'm wondering what you ate that made you dump? I don't mean that you are too much...but something specific you ate that caused textbook dumping: Nausea, quesiness, cramping, diarrhea, weakness, sweating, vomiting, heart palpitations.

Jerkey is really high in protein.

califmomto4 replied to dejaseana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 months and had stopped drinking them. However, it seems like a lot of people have better weight loss after increasing their protein so I am adding back one per day. My drs protein requirement is 60g but I'm shooting for more. I don't think I could get there without a supplement. -
I waited a week....and I made him do all the work. :-)

What do you eat for breakfast?
califmomto4 replied to futuremrsparker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually have yogurt. Maybe a mini Babybel? I think you could eat anything if its not " breakfast food" if chicken or shrimp for breakfast sounds good to you do that. I bought some of the Quest Protein bars because everyone was raving about them. I had to track them down. I tried apple pie... Couldn't do it. The texture is like taffy...I don't know its just weird. Overly processed and it kinda grosses me out -
I was looking at those online . How do you like it?

(Dumping) What did you eat?
califmomto4 replied to califmomto4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I keep thinking that I don't dump but maybe it's just that I haven't eaten any of these foods. I don't think I've had rice pasta or bread... Well except I did have a sushi roll with light rice. I haven't tried orange juice or ice cream. I was worried when I ate a yogurt that had 13 grams of sugar. I have a think thin protein bar in my purse but I'm afraid to eat it. It says sugar free but there r 11 grams of sugar alcohol. I'm wondering if sugar alcohol will make me sick? -

I am not sure how to you could get protein in during the liquid phase without using Protein Shakes. You really need to try one that you can handle for a few weeks.

Premier Protein 11oz - 30g Dannon light & fit greek - 12g Babybel or string cheese - 6g 1.25 oz beef jerky - 14g That is 62 grams... If I have a piece of fish for dinner I'm well over 60 grams. Maybe cottage cheese instead of yogurt?
-
My go to list: Greek yogurt Mini babybel Shrimp/fish Edamame Beef/turkey Jerky I only drink premier Protein shakes. (Sams/Costco) everything else makes me gag. My goal is 60g per day. So I guess this would depend on your goal and how far out you are.

califmomto4 replied to Wendilou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I checked out your profile...150 would be 120 lbs in 6 months...that is pretty ambitious! You are doing great! I'm sure you will be there by your surgiversary! You are tall like me! I'm 5'9"....I would love to see 160. Although...honestly, that seems really small right now!
