Tell your story! Make a Difference!

Hi, I just emailed you from my school email. Yes, I send out results to the participants, but as I told you in the email, I am also committed to make sure that anything you (or anyone) says to me that ends up in the study is complete, accurate and in context. So, long before it is published, you will have ample opportunities to review anything I am quoting that you might say, to make sure I have captured your exact words and intentions. If you decide that you want me to withdraw something, I will without question. And no names or identities will be used, so no one will know who I am talking about. I'm committed to excellence in my work and to the highest ethical standard. I want to tell the real stories of people's experiences so that we can all understand this process better. I hope that helps! Thanks for asking the question! It's not often I get to share all that. Carrie -
Hello! My name is Carrie Hickman. I am a gastric bypass patient, and now a PhD student studying gastric bypass experiences. I have Alex Brecher's special permission to invite you to be a part of my PhD dissertation study. It's just 15 questions that I email to you and will focus on your experiences since weight loss surgery. The study is completely confidential, secure and your identity will not be published or divulged in any way. Please email me if you are interested in participating, or know anyone who might be. I am looking for people at least 18 years old, who have lost weight as well as those who have not lost weight or may have regained it. Participation is strictly voluntary. Thank you. My email address is: carrie.hickman@waldenu.edu

Since I'm new here, I'm not sure how to reply to your reply. Sounds silly when you have to write it out. Thank you so much padlrd for your response. Wihtout thinking I responded to you from my home email. Sorry about that. For me, it doesn't matter. I just wanted to let you know that if you got an email from carrieon@mac.com or carrieon@me.com that it was me. Thanks again! Talk to you soon! Carrie -
