Today marks one month until surgery. I am wanting to use this time to prepare for what I will need during and after surgery. What are the things I should buy now to help during post-op?

I heard at 3pm on a Wednesday that the paperwork was going in and at 9am Thursday I was notified that I was approved! I think it depends on the insurance. I have BCBS.

I'm hoping the last week in June. I could go earlier but that is when I have the time off work. I should hear by next week if insurance approved me!

I'm having my surgery at wake forest baptist medical center.

No I didn't have to do any of that at WF. they are even taking care of all the insurance paperwork. If you are still early in the process you may want to look into WF and see if they can offer a bit of an easier process.

How are you all doing? I'm just waiting to hear from insurance. Hopefully I hear in a week and I will officially have a surgery date!!

Hi ladies! I am at the start of my journey too and starting at a similar weight. My highest when I first met my surgeon was 370. After doing my month long nutritionist diet I am now 349! Last week all the doctors cleared me for surgery and now I'm just waiting for insurance and my surgery date. Hopefully I will hear in about a week. I'm looking for a June date! Kd I'm in NC too. Where are you? I live in winston salem.

I too was cleared for surgery and I'm waiting to hear from insurance. -
I just had my last set of appointments today and from the doctors' standpoints I am cleared for surgery! I should hear in about two weeks if insurance approves me. I could technically get a May date, but as a teacher I will need to push it to June during summer! I'm so excited and ready to lose!

Same exact thing for me too!! Last visit with nutritionist tomorrow then I have a two week wait (or less hopefully) until I hear about approval. -
Where are you both in your process? I just finished my three week food diary. On may 1st I go to my next nutrition appointment and exercise evaluation. After that we can submit to insurance and get a date. Technically I could probably get a may date, but since I'm a teacher I will need to wait until school is out in June. I'm anxious to have the surgery over with and begin this process.

I am also looking to have surgery in a few months. I live in Winston Salem and am 28 so we can definitely support each other as we go through this at the same time!

I can't wait to be excited to have my picture taken. I can't wait to cross my legs. I can't wait to go on an airplane, see a show, or go anywhere new without worrying if I will fit in the chair. I can't wait to shop at "regular" stores. I can't wait to wear cute shoes. I can't wait to workout more and do more active things without getting tired easily. I can't wait to just feel better! -

I'm just starting out too. I've had my consult with the surgeon and my psych eval. Next up is my first class with the nutritionist next week. I'm excited and wish I could just have the surgery already and start losing! -
I'm looking at a June surgery date too! We can support each other through the process and the hoops.
