I looked at your diary and I would suggest increasing how many calories you take in each day. Each time I've had a stall I would increase by about 100 calories for a while and I would start losing again pretty quickly. If your body goes in to starvation mode it will start storing fat instead of losing it. Hope this helps!! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 331 CW 292

I was thinking the same thing. I am so focused on protein that veggies are not happening. This seems to go against everything I've been told my entire life..."gotta eat your veggies!" Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 331 CW 297

Three days and scared
hek1127 replied to daisykarebear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is completely natural to feel this way. But trust me it is the best thing we could have done for ourselves. As for being afraid of failing, the advice I really took from my nutritionist is after the required appointments are over to come back and see them as soon as you notice you are gaining again. She said it is a lot easier to fix 5 pounds than 100. Be honest with yourself and as soon as you suspect you are forming old habits, go see your support team! Also don't forget to take a before picture and keep that as your motivation! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 331 CW 299 -
I hit my first big goal today: I am no longer in the 300s!!! As of today I saw a 2 on that scale for the first time in a long time! This only encourages me to keep going. Nothing beats this feeling of reaching a goal! Next goal: lose 29 more pounds and it will be a full 100 pound loss from my highest weight! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 331 CW 299

I tried the ricotta back from the world according to egg-face and added two meatballs to it. Very good! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 331 CW 301 -

I am currently experiencing a stall and it is very aggravating. I am 4 weeks post op and have my post op appointment with the surgeon on Monday. I would like to end this stall before then. Does anyone have suggestions for what has worked for them when they stall? Thanks! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 305

Ugh I just had my first bad experience with food since surgery. I was eating leftovers from last night so I don't think it was the kind of food. It felt more like it got stuck. What an awful feeling!! I'm scared to eat anything now and I need to because I haven't eaten much today Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 305

Thanks everyone for the advice. My pill is urisodol so I will definitely ask my doctor about the tablet form. I have other meds that are tablets and they are much better! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 305

Any one else have a horrible experience with the gallbladder meds? I have to open them and put them in applesauce but it is so disgusting! Any suggestions? At what point post op did you all start swallowing the capsules whole? Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 305

Hi! My name is Hillary and I teach senior English and yearbook. I also had surgery on June 26, 2013. I have had a really good recovery so far. It is hard on a daily basis to try and get in enough protein and fluids. I don't know how I will manage when school starts. It's not like I can stop to eat in the middle of teaching. We will all have to figure it out together. As for exercise I too have given up walking outside. It is so hot! Try walking in the mall or I bought a workout DVD by Leslie Sansone which is essentially walking two miles in your living room. I also have the Jillian Michaels power sculpt DVD which includes cardio and weight training. Both are pretty good!

Ahhh can't stand this common core. They literally want is to cover everything yet the semester always seems to get shorter and shorter what with losing days for activities and testing! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 305

Right after surgery I thought I only had 4 incisions because looking in the mirror I couldn't see the 5th incision because it was near my belly button that was covered by my dropping stomach. Today I looked in the mirror today and to my surprise I saw the incision without moving my stomach around!! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 305 -
The last two days were really hard for me in terms of water and protein. There are just going to be good days and bad days. Not drinking before or after meals is especially troublesome with my fluid intake since I'm doing about 4 or 5 small meals. It feels like I'm constantly waiting for the 30 minutes to be up so I can drink! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 306

Surgery and a catheter
hek1127 replied to Yennydayerman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They told me I had one but it was put in after I was out and taken out before I woke up. I was worried about it too, but with everything else you are going through that day it is just a little blip on the radar. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 306 -

Try muscle milk light. The powdered drinks make me gag too but the ready to drink muscle milk is good. Good luck! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 306 -
I too think I hit a stall. I am 2 weeks so I think it is pretty normal so I am not stressing too much. It is hard for me to tell though because I am traveling and away from my scale. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 312
