Got a call from HR today. They moved my training out two weeks and will have someone else go in my place. I am sort of relieved. Now I can ease into things with the support of my manager and coworkers. They will cover me if I need to walk the back hall. And if I have to fart they will understand. :-)

Need Your Book Ideas!
terry1118 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never tire of the stories, they keep me motivated. The negative stories are just as important as the positive ones. I think it's important to hear from people who have had complications and how they were dealt with, as it could happen to any one of us. Bad experiences brought on by poor choices are just as educational, too. All these things can help a person decide if weight loss surgery is right for them, and if it is, they know what to expect when things don't go as expected. In all my research I had the hardest time finding veteran stories from people five or more years out. I wanted to know if they had continued success, health issues, unforseen problems, how they handled the life-style changes long-term, etc. Whether on not they'd do it again. Please include some of these stories in your book. For my part, I would like to see a book made up ENTIRELY of personal stories, good and bad, inspiring and informative. Reading about other peoples experiences helped me to make an informative decision. -
That's where I expect mine to end up! Lol

Plain water makes a difference? I only like plain water when it's hot and the water is cold. -
I'll be sitting in a training room all day but they said I could sit in the back where there is an exit so I don't distract anyone else. As for walking, how often and for how long? I can pace the rear of the room or exit to walk the hallway. I don't want to miss much of the classes, but I don't want to be uncomfortable either. And how long before the risk of blood lots is past? That is my biggest fear and main concern.

Ditto on the analogy! I'm saving your zing for future use!

Curious how you make out with that stuff. I was told to drink one bottle, wait, and stake out a bathroom. :-) You said you took your 'first dose'? How much did they ask you to drink? -

I have gallstones and had one gallbladder attack last year. I was concerned after surgery about how to tell if I am experiencing post op complications or a gallbladder attack. He said gallbladder pain is a little more to the right side and pain associated with surgical complications occurs primarily on the left side. Go to the hospital. At the very least call your doctor!

A new way to reward without food!

Definitely Michael More bags! Found one I loved, but it cost so much! I put it in my cart and wandered around the store while I tried to justify the purchase in my mind. I finally convinced myself (I'd NEVER spent that much on a bag before!). On my way to the register I put everything else in my cart back! Lol -
8.5 is small. My son was 10.8! :-) I'm sure you'll reach a size you'll be pleased with. I want to do something REALLY special when I reach my goal. I have never been high maintenance. We never had a real honeymoon, special anniversary trip, real vacation, or cruise. When I reach my goal it's NOT going to be cheap... Lol

What happens at the pulmonary appointment?

I was in a box for part of it but it was totally clear, like glass. I didn't feel claustrophobic at all. I had to do several different breathing exercises, like pant an blow hard, hold breath and blow out long, stuff like that. Some of it was in the box, some out of it. All of it was blowing into a tube. Pretty easy stuff, nothing to stress over (though I did stress because I didn't know what to expect). :-) -
Gallbladder surgery
terry1118 replied to vbgirl264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first and only gallbladder attack last August. The pain is exactly where you describe and I couldn't get comfortable no matter what position I was in. It was almost like labor pain but constant. I finally drove myself to the ER, which was a HUGE mistake. Because I was driving they couldn't give me anything strong enough to ease my pain. I suffered all night in the ER before it began to ease up enough for me to be discharged. I got home before my hubby knew I was gone, showered, and went to work. Wonder woman? Or fool? I vote fool! -
Gallbladder surgery
terry1118 replied to vbgirl264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor won't remove the gallbladder at the same time. I was told that the risk of complications goes way up with the two combined. The time they are working in you is longer and you are under anesthesia longer = higher risk. They prefer to do a few months before or after, if necessary at all. -

Good luck everyone! You'll be in a bathing suit, soaking up some sunshine soon! :-)

It's something you drink that cleans you out fairly quickly. I bought mine already (magnesium citrate? Something like that). I have to drink the bottle 6-7pm the night before. The nurse said to stake out a bathroom and stay near it. Also, inform family members that it is yours for the evening, they better stay out of your way! Lol
