That sounds tolerable. I go in 7:30 tomorrow morning. I hope I do as well as you.

    Things I will not miss...

This one hit home. I have only two pairs of pants that fit me fight now - black stretch pants for work, and stretch jeans for home. I just noticed last night that that the stretch jeans are getting that thinness in the inner thigh area that is almost see through. They are going to let go any day now. I'm hoping I won't be wearing them long enough to see it happen! Another thing I won't miss - elastic waist pants or any pants that can be described as 'stretch' !

    Things I will not miss...

Yes. And sweating more obviously in those places. I won't miss my fat clothes. I am seriously wishing I could burn them, that would be pleasure! That's not really feasible so I'll probably donate them.

    Things I will not miss...

Oh yes, the thighs! DEFINATELY won't miss that! Lol And 'back boobs' - won miss those. The first time I heard the term I asked my husband if I had those. He said 'don't ask me unless you REALLY want to know'. He was trying to be funny. And I hit an all time low knowing I was just as large and unattractive from the back as I was from the front. Goodbye 'back boobs'!!

what gram of sugar do you stick below

Healthy Choice came out with a frozen Greek yogurt that is low in sugar and has Protein. I tried and loved the blueberry. It's pricy and only comes with three individual servings but it will work for me this summer when everyone else is having ice cream. The only trouble I have is keeping my hubby from eating the whole thing before I get to eat even one! :-) Chobani has 'Champion tubes' that is strained Greek yogurt made for kids. It has 80cals, 8g sugar, 9g carbs, & 5g protein. You can eat it on the go from the to be or freeze for a treat. I bought it but haven't tried it yet.

    May surgeries!

Thanks! I'm not too worried. I have a pretty high pain tolerance. :-) I'm just really hoping I am not in that percentage that has complications! All my housework is done. My grass is all cut. My laundry is done. My bag is packed. I'm just sitting here in the sunshine finally relaxing. :-)

    Is it too late?

It's not too late to stop the last supper thing. Just try to think of food differently. For me my food relationship has been like being in an abusive relationship. I love food, especially the things that are bad for me. These foods in return have not been good to me, making me gain weight and develope health issues. So I am 'breaking up' with these foods and, with the aid of WLS, I will lose the unhealthy weight. I will be starting a new happier relationship with healthier foods that are good FOR me and good TO me. It is not about giving up food all together. It is about having a tool that enables you to make better choices, first of necessity, then by choice. :-) So start your own pre-op diet. What you lose will be that much less you'll need to lose, your body will get used to eating better things at regular times. And you won't feel guilt over 'last suppers'. But if you really want to indulge, do it! Not daily but perhaps once a week. Then your 'last supper' is more like a last supper than a month-long binge! Good luck!

    April 2013 Post-Op Group

I bought it to add to soups and broths. Someone somewhere suggested putting one scoop of unflavored protein in a little bowl in the morning. Throughout the day you add a little bit from the bowl to everything you eat or drink and by days end you've added 25gr of protein to your diet. Sounds clever and easy to do. I plan to try it after my surgery.

Or maybe it is the 'b'? I assumed it was the iron because I always took my B separately and it didn't change anything. I would often pass on the iron because it made me constipated, but when I did take it I noticed a difference in color.

Any vitamin with iron turns it 'funky yellow'. :-)

    Memorial day

My son is a marine serving on the the west coast, an entire continent away. He just finished his first deployment and is coming home on leave in four weeks. It's been a year since I've seen my baby and I'm hoping I feel 'normal' when he is here. I'm very excited!! As for the cookouts, I do all the family gatherings since my father-in-law passed away. We are the only ones with a house big enough. I passed on it this time, no explanation, just said I was busy. :-) And I am busy! Surgery Thursday! (Though no one but hubby and daughters know). Saturday and yesterday I cleaned the house top to bottom and today I plan to finish the laundry and get my grass cut. Tomorrow I get some groceries and do a little cooking for my hubby. My bag is packed for the hospital. I will be ready to go with no worries. :-)

    What ya eating tonight?

Fair amount of protein. I'll have to give it another chance. Thanks!

    Pre-oper afraid of drains!

I'm hoping to be a 'dream patient'. But I'm worried about nausea. When I had my shoulder surgery I woke up puking from the anesthesia. NOT a pleasant feeling...

    Is it too late?

I thought I would have to do a liquid pre op diet, too. I planned for it. I was sort of disappointed (weird, huh?). I decided to do something like it anyway, to jump start my weight loss and help me start implementing a real change in my eating. Since last Monday I've been following this: 6am - Protein shake 9am - Greek yogurt 11-1 (actual time varies by work schedule) - Protein Shake 3pm - snack, humus or Greek yogurt 5pm - protein shake 7pm - tilapia and steamed green veggie (broc, Beans, or asparagus) I try to drink three 23.7 oz bottles of Water every day, and have my Vitamin routine down., I've lost four pounds since last Monday. :-)

is it ok to eat popcorn often?

I like popcorn but never eat it anymore. A few years ago I cracked a molar on a popcorn kernel. That cost me $1200 for a crown. Never again! :-)
