    Baby Food Pros & Cons

I go on pureed food next Thursday. I bought some refried beans, hummus, canned chicken (they say it's more moist and easier to puree). I'll pick up some fresh fish to add to chowder and puree it. I'm still thinking what else to try...

    Things I will not miss...

This afternoon I got a Facebook message from a friend in the bank I work at. An older gentleman I talk to all the time was asking after me. Nice right? Not really... he asked if I was out "having my baby"!!!!! Damn, I am glad I had surgery... Lol

    So nervous

You'll be fine. I'm seven days out. Trust you surgeon, trust the nursing staff. You'll be home in no time! Good luck !

  12. The Johnnie is really the most comfortable thing you can wear after surgery. I did get a lot of use out of a loose bathrobe that covered my backside when I walked the halls. I have no secrets from my doctor, my nurses, and like someone said, the housekeeper - but there are other visitors who didn't need or want to see my backside. Lol
  13. Yesterday it rained all day. Rain meant I couldn't go out for a walk. The gas pains were really getting to me. Had to take pain meds which make me sleep. It was generally a long, slow, boring day! Today is glorious! Lots of sunshine, low humidity, and low seventies. I felt pretty good this morning (finally had a bm ), gas pains barely there, no need for meds. I did light housework then rested in the sunshine. I'll take my walk in a few, then have some lunch (more strained soup). Probably rest some more after that. Tomorrow is my one week follow-up with Dr. My daughter is taking me to my appointment and I'm REALLY looking forward to getting out of the house! Hopefully he'll clear me for driving. I love a ride on a beautiful day! :-)

is it normal to have second thoughts!

Change can be scary - it's the unknown. It's easy and comfortable not to change even if that change is for the better. You need to do what is in YOUR best interests. Do people really think physical changes will change much about the real you? Do people think you are that shallow? If so, it sounds like they have the problem, not you. And seriously... would you EVER tell a person with a curable disease not to get treatment because they might change and you would be uncomfortable with that change? Of course not! I am ME no matter if I am heavy or thin. I will probably be more confident, but not by much. I have always been a loving wife and mother, a caring considerate friend, a polite, friendly person who likes people, and a hard worker with a good work ethic. I will always be those things. People who know me will always be able to count on me. People who don't, don't matter. Whatever you do, do it because YOU want to. If you are not ready, don't do it.

    So ashamed!

I think we've ALL done this to some extent. I did it quite a few times myself. I'd get to thinking 'I'd better have a calzone now, because I'll never have this again'. Same with cake, ice cream, candy, chips, fried seafood, and donuts. And then the thing I was trying to savor never really tasted as good as I expected it to. The satisfaction wasn't there. That helped me buckle down and be more reasonable the last ten days before my surgery. Stop beating yourself up and move on. You will do fine... the rest of us did! :-)

    Fabulous February Post-Op's

Of course you know everyone is different, with many different factors to consider. One factor may be that some people have a lot more to lose than others. They may show a more significant loss than others. You are doing great! Try varying your workout. That works for my husband who is a bobybuilder. Your body gets used to a routine, changing that routine can get it going again. If you walk 2 miles every day in the morning, try biking in the morning and walking in the evening, then change it up. Summer's here... go for a swim after work instead of walking. Things like that. You are really doing awesome, I'm sure you'll continue for some time. :-)

    2days

I was surprised how easy the surgery was. Well, not easy, but definitely not as bad as I feared. I was never too uncomfortable immediately following it. Pain was minimal, I could walk with no problems. Drinking enough Fluid was harder than I thought it would be but it was doable. You'll be fine. Good luck! :-)
