What Exercise Did You Do Today?

TEN miles? Good heavens? At my healthiest I could only do six before my legs turned to rubber! Awesome job!

    Terrible taste in mouth...?

For a couple weeks nothing tasted 'right' to me. In the last two days things are starting to taste better. Smells aren't so bad either (but not exactly good yet :-p )

    food

To cut fat try PB2. It's dehydrated peanut butter with the oil removed but has all of the flavor. It's a powder so it's easy to add to shakes. Pretty inexpensive too. I paid $5 for mine. And it also comes as chocolate PB2 (since so many peanut butters are adding chocolate).

Hmm how much have you lost

My surgery was May 30. I've lost 14 lbs in 21 days. Enough to drop a size and be happy about it! :-)

    Sleep

    One week. :-)
  6. Glad you're feeling better. I stopped pain meds during the daytime after four days, stopped completely after a week. You'll be feeling good as new in no time!

Wife doesn't want me to get surgery

When I told my husband about my decision he wasn't happy about it. He was afraid I could die from complications. I told him I was going to die sooner if I didn't do it. He tried to be behind me but I could tell he was only going through the motions. He didn't have the advantage of all the information I'd been gathering for months. He went with me to the first seminar but that was just basic info. He got a much better understanding of the whole process after the nurse education class, though he still worried. He's a natural worrier. He's good now that it's over and there are no more unknowns. I love my husband very much (we've been married 31 yrs). But, in all honesty, this was something I was going to do with his support or without it. I couldn't just keep 'existing'. I wanted to LIVE.

    Terrible taste in mouth...?

I bought a Listerine breath spray. It comes in four or five flavors and it does the trick. I'm not supposed to have candies or mints, even if they're sugar free.
  9. I had surgery on May 30. I returned to work yesterday, June 17, no problems at all (that's a total of 18 days out). I work in a bank and spend a lot of time on my feet. I wasn't tired, or sore, or anything. If I hadn't come down with a nasty rash following surgery I would've gone back to work last week, out of sheer boredom. (I could only wear a loose fitting dress over the damn rash. Regular clothes were out of the question - I was too itchy.) The time needed for recovery depends on several factors. Your surgeons recommendation, whether or not you have complications, the type of job you have, how quickly you feel better (everyone is different), and sometimes personal finances have to be considered, too. Each one is unique.

    food

I've been on soft foods for five days now. I like bean free turkey chili - 11gr protein in 1/2 cup. Tilapia is delish. Scrambled eggs. Grilled burger (chopped in food processor and moistened with beef gravy). Meatball, mashed with sauce and Parmesan cheese. String cheese - 7gr protein. So far this is all I've tried. I haven't had trouble with any of it. Chew well, small bites, eat slowly.
  11. Ditto. I'm only 17 days out and already seeing results that make me happy. :-)

    How about some NSVs!?!?

My very first NSV! I've been living in the same two loose dresses for the last two weeks due to incisions and rash. I go back to work tomorrow and have to wear real clothes again, so I just went upstairs to figure out what I'm wearing. All my 2x are too big and my 1x fit!!!!! (I had dragged out my 1x clothes a few weeks ago in anticipation of losing.) So I bagged up the big stuff and put them in my car - I'll dump them in the donation box on the way to work. So NOT sorry to see them go! :-) :-) :-) :-)

    Vacation

Lol! You are too funny. So glad you had a wonderful time!

    What ya eating tonight?

Grilled tilapia for dinner. Yummy! And so far it's agreeing with me. :-) AND I met my protein requirements for the day... For the very first time! Fluid intake is almost there, one more bottle of water to go!
  15. I enjoy reading also. Very informative and helps you to see things from different perspectives and raise questions you may not have thought of. :-)

    What ya eating tonight?

At least that is my understanding. Any real chefs want to weigh in on that?

    What ya eating tonight?

Have you tried Atkins shakes? I like them - no weird taste. Had one for breakfast this morning. I like broccoli cheese soup. It's thick and flavorful. It's also one of the few things I can add unflavored protein to without me noticing it (probably all in my head). I'm having trouble meeting fluid and protein requirements - with soup I can get the best of both worlds.

Cooked previously frozen foods CAN be refrozen. Raw previously frozen foods cannot.
