    Where are you From ?

Very, very, very GOOD! Love them! Especially Dr Colacchio and his dry sense of humor. If I were not happily married... Lol

    What ya eating tonight?

I am four weeks out. I haven't thrown up, either, except for the liquid Tylenol I tried to take last week. I haven't exactly had anything 'stuck' but I did have an unpleasant experience last week. I took a bigger bite of chicken salad than I should've and swallowed it to quickly. That felt like having a rock in my stomach. It hurt and made me a little nauseous. I gave up on the chicken salad, waited an hour or so, and had some nice, safe yogurt. I also don't feel 'full' in the same way I used to. I do start feeling 'satisfied', like I don't want to eat another bite. If I go a little too far, it hurts a little just below my boobs. My nutritionist said that you need to learn to recognize the signs that you should stop eating - go slow and pay attention to your body.

    Hopes and dreams

I only have two real goals: 1. Be healthy and feel good 2. Start living instead of 'existing' Anything else is gravy...

    What ya eating tonight?

Refried beans with jalapeños and minced rotisserie chicken. Very filling - I made 1/2 cup but could only eat 1/4 cup. The rest I'll take to work for lunch tomorrow.

    April 2013 Post-Op Group

I'm glad your son is home! Maybe both of you can get some rest. At least the pain after surgery is HEALING pain. It's way better than something-is-wrong-but-we-don't-know-what pain. He'll be feeling better quickly. Take care of yourself now. :-)

    Chicken salad?

That sounds pretty good! :-) I think I'll give it a try!

    What ya eating tonight?

I had a little chicken salad. I'm feeling a little queasy but I had stressful day and came home upset - it's probably more to do with that. (I'm fine, coworker's an ass but it's no surprise and I'll get over it)

    Chicken salad?

That sounds like a good idea. They say if something doesn't agree with you, wait a week or so and try it again.

    Chicken salad?

My but says chicken salad usually goes down easier because the mayo moistens it. Plain chicken is dense and drier. Chicken salad would be a good thing to start with if you're in the soft food stage. Just chop it up small and make it really moist with mayo. It's one of the first foods I tried and it didn't bother me at all.

And watch sugar content. I'm a sugar addict - I don't want to be WANTING things because they're sweet. I'm almost a month out. I still don't know if I'm a dumper or not, but I prefer to avoid the possibility of dumping by avoiding everything that's over 10-12gr of sugar.
  11. On the plus side, tall people can gain ten lbs and no one notices. :-)
  12. I've always hated being short but at least I can have clothes altered. My husband's family is Norwegian so they are all tall ( shortest girl is 5'10"). I'm 4'11" - 5', depends on who's measuring. Both his sisters and his mom have trouble finding slacks with a long inseam.

    What ya eating tonight?

I buy Gorton's frozen skillet crisp garlic and herb tilapia fillets (5.99 at target). Just spray a small frypan with Pam, place a frozen fillet in it, cook med-low 10 mins on each side. I can eat about two thirds of it (mostly the soft middle), the dogs get the rest.

Chili, with or without beans. I get three meals out of a can.

    gallbladder surgery

My doctor wouldn't remove mine either. I know I have gallstones. They found them two years ago when doing an x-ray when I complained of severe back pain. Then they sent me for a ultrasound. I had never had an attack so I wasn't worried. Then last august I had my first and only attack. The pain! It lasted about eight hours and most of that time was spent in the ER. I know I have to have mine out but I keep putting it off...

    hospital stay

I went in Thursday morning, out Friday night. I didn't start with the gas till the Saturday. Farting was not a condition of my release. Peeing WAS. :-)

    What ya eating tonight?

I made some tuna for lunch, then I forgot and swallowed a bigger amount than I should've. I won't do that again! That sucker HURT, and it lingered for a while! I ended up not eating it. After the pain eased up I waited a while longer and opted for a nice, safe yogurt. Tonight I had baked tilapia w/a little tartar sauce. I ate small bites and chewed it well (lesson learned!). Tilapia ALWAYS sits well with me. And I love it! :-)
