    Breakfast help!

You can also make mini individual sized quiches using a muffin tin. Quiche is wicked easy - all you do is mix eggs, skim milk, cracked pepper, and your choice of add-ins. I like bacon and asparagus; spinach, mushrooms and cheddar; ham, onion, and swiss; tomato, spinach and feta; chourico and cheddar; and broccoli and cheddar. Be creative - throw in whatever you like! :-) When you make a batch you can put the extras in ziploc bags and freeze them. Lunch or dinner in a pinch! :-)

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Give it a week or 2 or 3... you'll be eying those 12's! I had bought a couple tight-fitting 14's a month ago and Monday I returned one I hadn't worn yet - it was too loose! :-) Then when cleaning out my closet this past weekend I found about 25 new things w/tags still on them that I had bought from three different stores over the last three years. I used to buy smaller things for 'when I lose some weight', but now that I'm finally losing I blew right past those sizes! I went on a returning spree and ended up w/over $300 in store credits to fund my final size!!!!! So many stores have no hassle, no receipt return policies now - they give store credit w/no receipt which is just fine by me! :-)

    Hair loss

Thanks for showing all three pics! I'm starting to lose more - I'm 4 1/2 mos out. My hairdresser says I have a lot of hair but it is baby-fine so it looks thin. I'm afraid that I'll lose a lot and it'll be obvious. I've been noticing more shedding, and I've been watching closely every morning when I brush it. You pictures reinforce what I know in my head - if I lose it it will come back! :-)
  7. I stayed one night, I was discharged at 8pm the second day. My doc won't release you until you progress to full liquids w/no trouble and are peeing. :-)
  8. I'm 4 1/2 months out. Yesterday while running errands I was pretty thirsty so I drank my tea pretty fast - only three or four gulps but quickly. Shortly after that I had pain in my upper abdomen in the same place I get that 'full' feeling when I eat. It was much worse when I sat or bent over. It was painful if I pressed on it and the pain lasted all day, until I went to bed last night. I was very nervous. I was afraid I injured myself by drinking too much too quickly. I never felt that before. If it didn't improve I was going to call my doc today but I woke up this morning and the pain was gone. I feel back to normal. It was a bit of a scare. Anyone else experience this?
  9. I've been worried about constipation. I went five days w/o going so this weekend I bought Colace w/stimulant and took it Sunday night. It worked but the GAS I had all day was terrible! I think next time I'll just take plain Colace.
  10. That was hilarious! Autocorrect is a comedian... :-)
  11. Egg was my first. It was disappointing because I was still having taste issues - it tasted not right'. :-p I do better with strong flavored foods like spicy re-fried Beans, spicy pepper hummus, spicy chili, anything w/chopped jalapeños, and sharp cheddar.

I was told to wait one year. I trust my doc - I'm listening to him.
  13. Actually, current weight 156. :-)

    Things I will not miss...

One more thing not to miss. I forgot about all my pants getting worn so thin at the thighs that the split. :-p Also won't miss people congratulating me on my 'pregnancy'. I'm 54, get real people! Lol

    Beware, I got wasted...

I'll have to keep this in mind if I get sick this season. Note to self: take immediately before bedtime, then go right to bed. :-)

    I hit ONEderland!

You look great! In all the before and after pictures I've seen of people, aside from obvious size differences, I notice everyone looks younger too! Sometimes the difference between before and after is so dramatic that it doesn't even look like the same person. Like you. :-) Weight really ages us.
  18. Talk to your doctor. They will know what's best for you.
  19. Sorry. I just reread your question. It took 5 days from insurance submission to insurance approval. It took 6-7 weeks from insurance approval to surgery date. My insurance approval was in late March. The problem I had was the required workshops in April were already full when I was approved so I had to wait until the next workshops in May. My surgery was May 30.
  20. Mine routinely recommends 2-4 weeks, depending on what type of job you have. For a light duty job they'll allow you back in as little as one week w/some restrictions if you're doing well and off all meds. If your job is more physical closer to four weeks is recommended. Complications complicate things and can mean more time out. Some people may need longer to recover even if all goes well because everyone is different. Pain tolerances, health before surgery, pre-existing conditions, age - there are a lot of factors to consider. Then there are unforseen issues. I myself developed a miserable rash that covered my abdomen, lower back, upper arms and upper thighs. I saw several doctors who prescribed many creams and ointments, none of which helped. It was a mystery and chalked up to 'an allergic reaction to something related to the surgery' because it started two days post-op. I couldn't wear clothes that touched the rash because of the severe itch - I lived in a loose sundress for two weeks, before things started to ease up. It took four weeks to go away.
  21. Mine took about five business days. I have BCBSRI.
