I'm 3 weeks out today. I haven't had sex yet. It seems like it would b too uncomfortable on my incisions. I hope that fear goes away soon. Now I'm scared to swallow, I DO NOT want to dump over that. Only way to know is to try I guess.

Crying while watching people eat
nairali replied to Lauri M's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U r definitely in mourning. It's rough and continues to b rough. But u will b ok. I promise! I'm 3 weeks out today and it gets easier everyday. I'm not that hungry, my craving have finally gone away and u just start to get used to things. Do not however b aforesaid to tell ur family how it's making u feel. Don't keep things bottled up. They won't know how to help u or b there for u if ur silent. -
Relationships after--pre surgery anger
nairali replied to starrliina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand where everyone is coming from. Maybe I'm wrong but what's wrong with giving him a chance? Maybe it's not about the weight. Maybe it's just about timing? If u really care for him and he could b there for u through everything, y not give him a chance? And when ur skinny or when ur over it, move on and let him go. Just a thought. -
1 year out and feeling GREAT!

U look amazing!!! How inspiring. U r beautiful. Can u give me an example of a day of food for u? -
The pain has been a lot worse and the eating restrictions have been rough. Like others tho I'm scared bc I don't get full at 2 oz. I started at 230 on 3/6 and I'm 208 3/25. But I've been that weight got a week. As soon as I could eat reg food again the weight loss stopped. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. I would never cheat. I track all my calories. I've only gone to 550 calories a day if that. Also the nausea has been awful. I didn't have this w band. The band is super scary when u feel ur choking. I was just on soup and liquids by the time I got it out. Take it easy and try liquids for a while. I would wake up aspirating. It would scare my fiancé to death. It is so normal to b scared. I would think it odd if u weren't nervous. Any other questions please ask. I'm still very glad I got the band out and had the bypass. It's just a slow recovery for me.

Was banded in 05. Was 265 got down to 170 by 09. Broke back, became disabled gained back up to 230. I was choking during the middle of the night for over a year, aspirating. Decided to revise. My band was growing into my liver. Yuck! So glad it's gone. It was much harder on me than the band surgery. Almost 3 weeks out. I'm like the other ladies, I think I could eat a cup of food or more, but I don't. I'm glad I did it. We don't think ur crazy for being scared. I was scared out of my mind. I mean they reroute ur plumbing! And u have to make changes u didn't have to w the band.

I used to LOVE coffee and I also love wine. I can't stand coffee or diet coke now. Coke taste like chemicals and I can't even describe the terrible taste of coffee. My doc said I'm just not supposed to drink ever. I do terribly miss a glass if wine w dinner. I just wonder if I'm not gonna hate it too? I can smell everything now. My sense of smell is crazy. I agree, everything in moderation.

What ya eating tonight?
nairali replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess I need to call my Nut about all this. I'm 3 weeks out wedns and as far as I know I have no restrictions besides the obvious sugar, fried food and high carbs. Is salad hard to digest or something? -

I had chicken gumbo from qdoba! Amazing. Light black beans, very little brown rice, poco, cheese and sour cream. I ate maybe a fifth of it! Lots of protein! -
Don't feel bad. Addiction transfer is so common. When I had my band done in 05 I picked up a nasty habit of vodka/ crans bc I couldn't handle the carbonation of the tonic! Had RNY done 3/6 and I'm scared it might turn into a shopping addiction this time. But I'm gonna try my best to stay ahead of it. Maybe it's just me but I think 3 cocktails at night at home is no big deal. It's better than a carton of ice cream!

I'm in Louisville! Text me if u want. 502-379-0537. It's Ali I'm so excited I saw ur post. I just had mine done on 3/6. Doing pretty good. I just feel ignorant on what food choices to make besides no sugar and no more than 2 oz. I'd love to chat!

To Montage: You have numbness around your incisions b/c your nerves have been cut. They need time to regenerate. It should come back in a couple of months. I do have one old incision however that some spots the feeling never came back. your arm though is a different story. Unless it's where the IV was maybe :-)

I would definitely ask the doc about stool softeners. If those don't work then maybe a magnesium regiment or fiber supplement. Talk to him soon, u do not want too constipated. Are u measuring the amount of ur puréed food? And if ur bowels are full u r probly retaining that weight and water weight. Call him and see what u can take!

I use Neutragena twice a day everyday plus drink about 10 cups of water. It really helps. -
Triceps exercises! Really does help. Biceps work wouldn't hurt either. Makes a big difference. Don't expect overnight change tho. Give it 6 mons and ull b amazed at the difference.
