    Curious questions about Meds

You cannot take Aleve or any NSAID anymore after surgery. The only pain reliever OTC will be Tylenol. Multivitamins come in chewable, calcium citrate comes in chewable, B12 is liquid and the iron pills are small. If you take a prescription med that you need and the pill is large see if the doctor can get it in liquid form for you. It is a big adjustment, but I am on week 5 and down 34 pounds and it is all worth it. Good luck.

i use to love sex before RNY

I am 5 weeks out and was just researching this today. My sex drive has gone way down since I had surgery. It has nothing to do with him, but I am just really tired most of the time when I get home from work. I wish I had an answer for you, as I too and in the same boat.

    Confession

I know that 2 weeks is hell but I promise it does get better. I struggled myself. Reach out on here. We have all been where you are and we have all struggled. Just set your mind to it. Maybe talk with your family about it and let them know how you feel and see if they can be a little more considerate to what you are going through. Good luck to you.

    eating too fast

I am 5 weeks out and still trying to perfect the chewing thing. I was a fast eater so I am working really hard to slow down and chew, chew, chew. It is so hard.

    buyers remorse

I was in terrible pain for 2 weeks after my surgery and was wondering what had I done to myself. Week 3 got a little better and by week 4 I felt really good. I am exactly 5 weeks today and I feel great and am down 33 pounds. Keep your head up. Take your pain meds and stay hydrated. Good Luck!

It happened to me at 3 weeks out and I was in fact dehydrated and had to go to the ER and get a bag of fluids. Be careful, call your surgeon.

    Teacher stress

I am a middle school teacher and I took the week before spring break off and then had the week of spring break. I did have some minor complication so ended up taking a few extra days off. The 2 weeks at Christmas should work for you. If you have the time, take it. Your health is more important. I was very lucky to have a very supportive principal. Good luck!
  10. I have felt several times today a little faint. I am not sure what is going on. I am 3 weeks post op. I have had some diarrhea and cannot seem to stomach but about 40 ounces of fluid a day. I feel ok other than some left side pain. Anybody else experience this?

    Finally part of the club!

Some people also become lactose intolerant after surgery. That could be why.

    omg! im not doing well!

Just pick yourself up, and realize that we are all human. You will be fine. Just get back on your diet. I was allowed one meal a day and 2 shakes on my pre-op diet, but every doctor is different. You can do it. I am 4.5 weeks out and 33 pounds down. Just keep your mind on the end result.

    To those with young children...

The morning I dropped my daughter off at school when I was having surgery we both broke down crying. But, I remembered that she was my motivation for having the surgery and I trusted my surgeon with my life and I just knew that God would see me through. I was in the hospital 3 nights and the day of surgery you are really out of it and you don't want her to see you that day. My daughter only came up one time. If your parents are there, have them keep her busy, park, lunch at her favoritre restaurant or whatever. Remember, you are getting healthier for her and you so, although I know it is scary, it's just nerves. I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers. Keep us updated. Good luck! You will be on the losers bench in no time!

The best thing i ever did!

So happy for you! You look great. I am only 4 weeks out and it is so hard, but I know it will be worth it in the end.

    what else can go wrong?

You made the right decision. I had a few issues and had to go get some IV fluids. I am 4 weeks out today and just starting to feel good. I am still mourning food and wish I could eat things I know I shouldn't but the weight is coming off and i am getting my energy back. Head up, when they hydrate you, you will feel so much better.

    Constantly feeling cold

It will get better, trust me. Also, you may need to have your doctor do blood work and check your iron and vitamin levels to make sure you don't need more of something. Good luck.
