Home from the hospital. I'm feeling very sore. We had some issues with pain meds last night. Different nurses did different things. Inw said walk as much as possible and another said don't walk becausecyou heartrate is too high. I ended up not walking and got a lot of pain and came down with a fever. They got this under control and to my surprise sent me home. I am feeling better at home though. Being in control of my own care. I was not allowed to have anything to eat or drink the day of surgery. They did not bring me water or chicken broth until about three pm yesterday. By then I was in pain due to them switching me from morphine to tramadol, I did not eat anything. I ended up having maybe eight oz of water last night and have had maybe 16oz of water today. I sleep most of the time. -

On the losers bench! Any idea how much I should be getting to walk? The morphine is keeping me asleep. -
Ok. So I had my surgery yesterday. Lap band removal to rny. Surgery was supposed to take an hour and a half but took four. When I you the lap band they fixed a hiatal hernia. My doc says my last surgeon did not fix it the right way so he had to redo it. Also I had a lot of scar tissue even though I only had the band for two years. I had sx at 7:30am, but did not make it into a room until 6:30 am because there were none available. My husband stayed with me he whole time and stayed the night. My parents had to leave before I got in a room and will be coming back to visit today. I was told I will likely be going home tomorrow. I cannot have anything to drink until I have my upper gi later this morning. Do far so good and not hungry at all!

On my way to the hospital! Wish me luck! Ready to be rid of the band forever!

Me too. I've snapped at my mom and my husband several times. I think it's the anxiety...

I drank alcohol just over a week ago. I would not risk it this close to sx.

My surgery is Monday and oak having a breakdown.I have the lap band and I have felt bulimic for two years until they took the fluid out of my band a month ago. I've been crying because I finally can eat without throwing up and I'm worried I will be back where I started... sick, fat, unable to eat and still fat. I have eaten everything in site the last two weeks and am now having liquids.

I know what you mean by getting nervous from the barking. My dogs do not bark... ever, but sometimes if my husband has to work the night shift, the will all get up and growl at the bedroom door. It makes me think someone is in the house. I will get up in a hurry in the middle of the night and grab a pistol and shotgun. The I hide behind the chest of drawers were I van see the door and wait for 20 min to see if I hear anything... I have been diagnosed with high anxiety. -
Anyone dealing with Runner's Knee/Chondromalacia?
Lou:) replied to lessoflittlebit's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Yeah. I am hoping weight loss will help me with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. -
When I got the lap band they gave me a second gown to wear backwards to cover my backside when I went to walk.

I will be off a week and then work from home a week. I am sure it's not necessarily the physical part, but more mental from changing your life... being drained from less food, watching for complications, and gaining new habits. Seems like a lot of people from the Feb group said they went back to work after two weeks, but did not start feeling like themselves till 4 weeks.

Lou:) replied to lessoflittlebit's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I do work comp insurance, and I see people find out they have chondromalacia all the time. The doc always suggests weight loss will help, but ultimately the need an arthroscopic procedure you just go in there and clean it up. A lot of people seem to find relief with that surgery because it is not like a meniscus or acl repair. -

All five of my dogs sleep with me and my husband. We love to sleep in the dog pile. There is something very calming about sleeping with the dogs until someone poops the bed.. -
