Dumping does not come up it goes down. Your pouch may not have liked what you ate, but it's not dumping. -

Yeah. My surgery was on the eighth. I'm concerned I'm eating too much and too quickly. I'm not hungry but I know I need to eat and I'm not feeling full either unless I eat what seems like too much. -
I was a pesciterian for two years, full vegetarian for a year and back to pescitarian for a year. It is difficult to eat the right things and you end up eating a lot of carbs. I could not stay healthy and soy products can alter your hormones.

Mine was two months because that was the earliest available surgery date. My doctor is very busy.

The hairloss would begin three months in and should only last three months, because hair goes in cycles. I lost hair with the lap band and it was a lot of it, but it began growing back within the promissed three months. I just had rny and am not sure if I will lose hair again but I'm not worried knowing it will grow back. -

What helped me get past all the bad stories is I read about a study done. They took 100 people and recorded their medical records over 10 years. Half had bypass and half did diet and exercise. No one from the bypass group died, but a few had complications. All the people in the diet and exercise regained the weight they lost and about 15 to 20 of them died within seven years due to their other medical conditions that would have been treated with the bypass. I don't remember where I read about the study because I did so much research. You will see some people that wish they did it sooner and others that are glad they waited till they were ready. Only you will know what is right for you, but there are not that many horror stories compared to success stories. The chance of complications is like one percent. That was a chance I was willing to take. -

Heightened sense of smell?

I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. Smells have also been bugging me. -
I bought a bariatric cookbook. It says any microwaved leftovers would be too tough so it suggests keeping gravy or dressings on hand to eat with it to soften it up. I had some salmon that was tough the next day and was not working out but then ate it with some tartar sauce and went down fine.

I had reactive hypoglycemia pre op. I pretty much new I'd be sick as a dog if I had any sort of carbs at breakfast or lunch. I always got sick between 2:30 pm and 4pm and would have to eat something or I would pass out. Since surgery two weeks ago I have not had any symptoms of hypoglycemia at all.

I've been having this issue. I'm two weeks post op. The house will be 73 degrees and my husband is begging me to let him turn on the fan while I'm in sweat pants a shirt and a sweater with a blanket over me shivering. . .

I would not suggest it. I was a vegetarian with the band. Soy products are only good for you in small amounts. You really should not live off them. Also think about how much they have to process soy to get it to taste and feel like different meats. I still eat soy products from time to time, but it will effect your hormones. They threw me out of wack and made me crazy. -
I had band to rny on 4/8.

I was not given a pre op diet and went crazy on several" last meals" . I did on my own only drink water and Atkins shakes the day before to flush out all the bad things I ate...

I went out yesterday and split a meal with my friend who is on a diet. It was salmon and a crab cake with black refried beans and cilantro rice. Tgey split all of it into two plates I ate my half of the crab cake and a bite of beans. I took the rest home which has lasted two more meals. My friend ate most of her complete plate but was still enough food. I think going out will be cheaper foe me as I will be splitting meals with my friend or husband. The only thing I don't like is if someone points out how little I ate, which is usually the waiter. ..

Thanks!

We are the same height and about the same starting weight and I'm almost two weeks out. You look great, but I'd like to know if you ended up with loose skin. I'm 24 years old. I'm trying to figure out what I have to look forward to. O hope you don't mind...

I had trouble wiping from the swelling and pain. My husband was a trooper... he only had to wipe the backside once for me in the hospital. I had trouble wiping the front but managed it myself. My husband also gave me a sipository in the hospital. Also when I was having gas pains i would lay on my stomach and my husband would do karate chop massages on my back to help me pass gas lol. He was surprisingly very helpful. I think he started to get sad when I was able to do stuff on my own because he liked feeling helpful.
