Relationships after--pre surgery anger
Lou:) replied to starrliina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is a good mindset to have -
I woke up this morning sick as a dog. I think it is maybe an upper respiratory infection. I'm going to the doctor this afternoon. Do you guys think I will have to push back my endoscopy that's two days from now? I hope this does not effect my surgery date 3 weeks from now...

Relationships after--pre surgery anger
Lou:) replied to starrliina's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I meet my husband while I was still thin in high school. We just celebrated our 5 year anniversary last week. He has been very supportive of my weight gain and my decisions to have surgery. It sucks because he is 6' 175lbs and can easy anything! I feel that people have to have an initial physical attraction in order to be interested in getting to know you in a romantic way. I do feel my husband may not have hit on me if I had started at this weight before he knew me. -

I can't wait to go dancing and not try to hide myself in the dance floor because I feel like people are starring. -
Hi all... I am new to the site but have been rummaging around everyone's posts. I got the band in Dec 10. It was fine other than throwing up all the time. I could not find that sweet spot. .5cc made a huge difference for me. I would either throw up my own saliva or could eat a whole 6"sub. There is no middle for me. Pre-OP was 256lbs. I got down to 210 lbs in a year and a half, but most was lost early then was a huge struggle later to keep the weight off. My band will also be so tight in the morning that I can't even think about drinking Water till about noon and then at 6pm, it loosens up so I can eat a large dinner. I would never wish the band even on my worst enemies. ANy way, I began having horrible acid reflux last August that put me in the emergency room a few times thinking I was dying. The surgery itself did not hurt that bad. They loosened the band a little and i have skyrocketed up to 253 lbs. I have my approval already. Gallbladder ultrasound is set for 3/12, upper gi set for 3/21, and pre-OP set for 3/28. I have osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, fibromayalgia etc. I would like to hear some of yalls success stories and what helped you be successful so I can look forward too this with a little less fear!!! Is it better? Is it worth it? Did any of you have complications and come out ok and still would do out over again?

surgery date set for 4/8/13! nervous!

Yeah. I wish I had more knowledge about the lap band before I went through all this. I am trying do know everything I can before going under the knife again this time. -
I don't blame then for denying them now. The lap band sucks! I have not been told to do any prep duet or liquid diet at all. I am watching what I eat on my own though and will likely drink just shakes for a few days ahead of time.

I lost about 40 lbs with the Lapband over a year and a half and gained it all back when I began having complications. I am now waiting on my revision on April 8.

I can't wait to throw anything on in the closet and not worry... Does this still fit? Or try to stretch my shirts some before putting them on so that you can't see how high my pants go up on my stomach. I also can't wait to get more tattoos either. I have my whole right lower leg done as part on a leg sleeve but have not moved too my thigh because of being embarrassed of my weight. I also can't wait to show of my tattoos. I'm so shy about them now because I think people will say "look at that fat chicks tattoos." I love my tattoos but hide due to my weight. I can't wait to be free of my fears. -

Thank you!!!! I hope for the best for both of us! -
The countryside was nice, but I didn't get out there often. In Fayetteville, houses are broken into during the day when they know soldiers are at pt in the mornings. Just compared to where I've grown up, that place seemed so dangerous with peoples fighting pittbulls loose sometimes in the neighborhoods. I would notleave the house without a concealed weapon.

Your from Fayetteville or just ended up there because of the military? I dreaded every moment I was there. My husband was stationed at ft. Bragg for a few years and I refused to live there because I never felt safe. I stayed in Texas until he got out of the army. I would visit for two months per year and the other times he was either deployed or would visit me.

That sounds awesome. I can't wait for it to be gone because it is so embarrassing when I eat lunch atty my desk and my supervisor comes to ask me a question about work. He had commentedon the gurgling noises several times. I'm so tired of it and hoping it goes away with the bypass.

I wanted to ask everyone to see if yall have had this problem. I have never been able to burp in my life. Before the lap band I maybe burped teen times ever. While having the lap band, after like two bites of food I feel a strong pressure in my chest then my mouth waters and I have to run to the bathroom and put my finger down my throat and burp. After burping a few times (via finger) I can eat a few more bits before it happens again. I hate running to the restroom all the time especially at restaurants worried if I am close enough to the bathroom. Did anyone have this problem with the band? Did it go away with the bypass?
