    Toothdoc's Journey

You may make out better since you have a lot to lose. There is so much individual variation with this. I look in the mirror and wonder if I can possibly weigh what I expect when this is all over. We can just follow instructions and exercise and walk and get active and maximize the surgery's effects.

I don't know how to reply to a specific person like when it shows that persons' comments in gray.

    Update three monthes out

I will be getting a band-to-RNY in mid april or early may. My target loss is 75 pounds. 45 pounds lost in three months doesn't seem to bad to me. My sister is almost a year out from RNY. She never had a lapband. Her initial weight loss also was seen in her face and neck and loss of a couple of chins (her words) It took a while before I could see it. She also was used to dressing in layers. Now that she is shedding her old styles, it's more noticeable. Good luck.

    Toothdoc's Journey

Thanks for all the personal accounts. Three pounds a week with not feeling hungry is great. If I can do that I'll be happy. I'll get my surgery date on March 20th. I'm going to try to be strict so I can lose a few more pounds Pre- op. Any thoughts about adding or removing Fluid from the band preoperatively?
  5. Does anyone know if it is standard surgical practice, just better, or irrelevant to empty the lapband prior to revision surgery?

That is excellent progress. I never felt "Full" with the band. Your story makes me hopeful.
