My suggestion said today it is one of the rarest but most complex post op issues. We haven't come up with a follow up plan yet. I don't understand what could have caused it. He said sometimes aid can come up and cause it but that confuses me because I thought this surgery would cure my reflux.

I haven't honey but I was just admitted two days ago at three months post op with a huge ulcer. I understand your frustration and I hope you get better soon! Heather

March 2013 Post Op "A New Life 2013"
nhnurse1 replied to ElleG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone I have been in the hospital since last night. I had severe abdominal pain and vomiting whenever I tried to eat or drink. I had a scope done today. They were thinking it was a stricture but it was not. They found a very large marginal ulcer. Does anyone else have any experience with this? I was so scared. I am on iv fluid although still not peering much. They also said I would probably be here for a couple days. -

So excited to report that I ran 3/4 of a mile today without stopping. While that may not seem like much to some of you, you must know that before I started losing weight I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds without getting winded. The best part is, I wasn't dying when I got off the treadmill and I probably could have kept going! Such an exciting day for me! -

HW 267 SW 240 (3-19-13) LW 199 Today 197 Officially down 70 LBS!! -
I am in the same spot I have been 198-199 for two weeks, I hit onederland and stopped losing I get between 700-900 cal a day and 90-110 g protein. Sometimes my water intake can be not as much as it should be but, the sudden stoppage has me worried. I work out on my days off (4 days a week and usually burn about 300-400 cal). I can't wait to start losing again. I also am a nurse and I am on my feet for 12 hours when I am working....

Hi guys, checking in. I have been at a standstill for the last 2 weeks and it is getting frustrating. I hit onderland and boom it stopped. I have been 198-199 for two weeks. I have been working out a lot and trying to get all of my fluids and protein in. I get between 700-100 cal a day depending on the day and 90-110 g protein. Sometimes my water intake is not as much as it could be but, I am trying. I am really hoping to start losing again. I have a long way to go! -

Anyone Suffer From Pseudotumor Cerebri?
nhnurse1 replied to LilBoo007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was diagnosed with it in 2001. I have had occurrences of it on and off since then. I lost 80 lbs after first being diagnosed and it was a HUGE help. I gained it back and the PTC came back with a vengeance. I have lost almost 70lbs including my pre-op weight loss and I have noticed a big difference. -

Average Weekly Weight Loss?
nhnurse1 replied to erikaloftin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon required that I take 6 weeks off because of the lifting requirements in my job description. I think it was a good thing. For the first four weeks I was still a little sore if I overdid it and would occasionally need a nap. So the time off was wonderful. Good luck! -
Average Weekly Weight Loss?
nhnurse1 replied to erikaloftin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 weeks post op and have lost 40lbs. and a total of 66lbs. I definitely have to keep an eye on my protein and make sure I am getting enough, and enough fluid in order to lose. I have one pound to go to onederland and I couldn't be happier. I on average, lose about 3lbs a week. I am a nurse and walk a lot at work and on my 4 days off a week, I do either aerobics or zumba and walk. -
My doc said flat diet gingerale was okay after surgery. That may help your craving. I have not tried carbonated soda.
-
My doc said 6 weeks. I am a nurse and couldn't go back to work until then because of all the lifting that I have to do. I would wait another week to be safe.

nhnurse1 replied to nhnurse1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think mine is muscular it definitely seems to be aggravated by eating. I do not however, have any nausea or vomiting. I guess we will see what my surgeon says when I talk to him tomorrow. -
