I'm not quite 3 months out. I'm sleeping for 8-9 hours a night, taking all of my vitamins and am trying to eat properly (Attempting 70-80g of protein when I don't eat very much is a trick. So I try, but I know I don't get there.) However, I'm also trying to get up earlier so I can get to the gym everyday, but I'm so exhausted when I'm supposed to be getting up that I just can't do it. So, I go back to sleep and get up in time for work instead. Is anyone else having this problem or has anyone found a solution? I'm at my wits' end.

I'm not too far out, I just had my surgery last Tuesday. However, my incision keeps bleeding. It's not that dramatic, it's not that dramatic but over the course of a day or a night, I get a stain that's probably about... 1/2 tablespoon of plasma and blood, especially at the bottom of the incision. Is this normal? I checked my discharge papers but it just says that it shouldn't be "excessive" which is not all that helpful. It doesn't look infected; I just want to make sure this is normal.

As to the original question, they really don't while you're on clear liquids. Just take all your vitamins and drink as much protein as you can -

None of you are alone. I had my surgery on the 6th too. It has been so painful and miserable. It's not even the pain, it's the insult to injury. My personal favorite is the need to walk combing with the gross output and then the limited range of motion. I've done a lot of thinking and regretting but as I look at the victories posted in the forum, I get my hope back and as each day is less painful and less nauseous, I get more positive about it. -

Well, I would start taking some extra Vitamins specifically to help support your system; as welcome as he/she is, there's a new drain on resources and your body is still learning to cope. I'd check in with my surgeon and a dietitian and get their recommendations. Congratulations! -
Congratulations everyone! It's very exciting (but also scary)! 3 weeks left for me. What I'm bringing: Robe Shower stuff (apparently I get to shower before I leave) Cell phone Computer Gameboy Color Chapstick Slippers Loose Dress What I plan to have at home: Pill crusher food processor Frozen food cube trays - like ice cube trays but slightly different! 1oz each slot Raised toilet seat - while I could count on him, I'm not sure I want to be dependent on my boyfriend for help in that department Bed back rest Bariatric Advantage Vitamin pack (the version with lots of powders and chewables) unjury Protein powder (unflavored, chicken Soup, and a sample pack) Vitamin D supplement, liquid Biotin supplement, Liquid Papaya Enzyme, Chewable Fitbit Flex - to keep me honest about walking

Since I had depression for a short period in my late teens, I was never eligible for the shot. I was also particularly scared that the Nuvaring would come out or wouldn't be a high enough dose for me (my hormones are pretty strong). I confess to having been nervous about getting an IUD but I don't regret it. I have the Paraguard right now but I had heavy periods to begin with and now they're a bit too long and too heavy with too much spotting for my liking, so I'm switching to Mirena before surgery. I didn't want to have to remember pills and I've never been pregnant before; I haven't had any problems with it at all aside from the initial 2 periods worth of especially bad cramps. Compared to surgery, it wasn't much at all. I took Advil and everything was fine. I was apprehensive before, but I have become a firm supporter of IUDs through my experiences so far.

I've finally got my surgery date and I'm trying to figure out what I need to tell work and how long I'm going to be off and how long I just need to work from home. I just have a desk job; I do a lot of writing on a computer and talking to people on the phone. So, I'm hoping that I won't need to wait two full weeks to go back to work, but I need advice before I ask my boss for my time off after surgery. How long did it take you to go back to work?

My surgery is August 6 and I am the same, very excited but very nervous!
