What ya eating tonight?
ArmyOfMe replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Went to Logan's earlier today and had grilled shrimp with a side of baby roach. Stupid restaurant did not spray for bugs in a while, according to the manager. Shameful. That shrimp went right back in their nasty kitchen and got it scratched off the bill. -

I am so glad it sat well. I am always über excited when I can try an old recipe and it sits well. I cooked my beloved chicken cabbage rolls a few days ago and I am still licking my whiskers. Amazing what the pouch likes and is content with. -
Didn't care for it before, Can't have now, BUT NOW CRAVING IT, OMG
ArmyOfMe replied to oldoneyoungagain's topic in Rants & Raves
Hahaha ... Love your sense of humor. That would be a wonder sleep med. Hang in there. This stuff is no walk in the park. -
Yes, very much so. Usually, it's due to texture (pasta or breads), not chewed well enough, ate and swallowed it fast, fatty food, possible stricture. In my case, I forget to chew properly and I end up swallowing big chunks. That's why my food gets stuck and I end up throwing it up.

The discomfort in your lower belly is trapped gas. Sublingual Gas-X is really helpful. Works fast. -

Did your Menstral Change after Surgery?
ArmyOfMe replied to kparadisek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my case, it started and did not stop. I have been PMSing for two months now. Not heavy, not painful, just overly annoying. Surgery hormones + the Nexplanon = never ending flow. Aggravating at this point. Hopefully, my OB has some good news for me soon. -
Have you tried red onions? They're easier to tolerate, I've noticed.

How Did You Find Out About RNYTalk.com?
ArmyOfMe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Researching RNY on Google. It popped up amongst other things. -
When did your wound glue start to come off?
ArmyOfMe replied to bloreorbust's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had two incisions like that. Nothing bad happened. Since I still have the surgical wash they gave me pre-surgery, I made sure to gently clean my abdomen area every day with it and put on a clean t-shirt each time. The incisions healed wonderfully. As long as you keep your incisions clean and covered, you should be fine. When in doubt, call your surgeon's office. That's what you pay them for. :-) -

We decided to have Papa Murphy's take'n'bake thin crust pizza for Labour Day. I had a small slice of it and it sat well. -
Alcohol & post op...
ArmyOfMe replied to Lovelycurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It felt a bit like a burning sensation going down. Tolerable if you only take small sips and occasionally. I took small sips out of my husband's bottle. Definitely, did not waste a whole bottle on myself. My surgeon did not ban carbonated drinks. He said, it's okay to have carbonated drinks. I think he meant, only occasionally as a treat and as long as I don't fall back into the old bad habit. At least, that's how I interpreted it. -
Family acting different since surgery...
ArmyOfMe replied to Harwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Speak up for yourself! WLS is no walk in the park. Did you go thru all the pre-surgery emotional stress and now the permanent change of lifestyle to have a bunch of envious family members silence you? I think not! Remember: you made this lifelong change to improve your health and your mind. Don't let others walk over you because you were courageous to change for the best. Pleasing people will get you nowhere. It just gives them the courage to be meaner and uglier. -

Alcohol & post op...
ArmyOfMe replied to Lovelycurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm three months out and have tried both beer and wine. It didn't get me drunk at all, just very dehydrated. You will feel the alcohol flow but depending on your body's reaction, you will either get plastered or just dehydrated. Personally, at 4 weeks out, I would wait. At least, you have something to look forward to later on. -

Menstartion
ArmyOfMe replied to Candi Troutt Green's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine hasn't stopped in 2 months. It's not heavier but it is sure damn annoying. Glad I will be meeting my new OB soon. -
Oh boy, I am hating life right now. Every muscle in my body hurts. My PT made me do a circuit of strength training and man, did she aim high for every body part with a muscle in it. I think, I'll resume to my rounds of cursing every time I have to move around.

This is for anyone who went in for laparoscopic and it was changed to open
ArmyOfMe replied to Nellie3803's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Previous surgery before WLS: complicated C-section Surgery type: Lap. At the time, the surgeon gave me no reason to believe he would switch to open surgery. I don't even remember him mentioning it. -
I use my old German scale. It's a digital one. Looks pretty much like the Weight Watchers one. Saw it in BB&B. I wonder if they still have them on sale.
