Sharing instead of 'stalking' now :)
ArmyOfMe replied to cjs_journey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am very sorry for your loss. I hope your journey to becoming healthy and happy is a smooth one. See you on the losers' bench! -
Daily calorie intake
ArmyOfMe replied to taraster25's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I average daily between 500-1000 cals. I have no interest in starving myself and end up in an never ending circle of stalls. Thankfully, MFP keeps me in control and conscious of my choices. -
why do i keep eating!?
ArmyOfMe replied to XXLnomore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your other option is to replace all the unhealthy crap with fruits, veggies, nuts, protein bars, sugar free Popsicles, fat free yogurt in various flavors, fat free broths, etc. Until you train your mind to stop playing games with you, you will have all these better snacks to fight back when you get desperate. We are all human and make mistakes. No one here is the perfect WLS prototype. Hang in there. You can do this! -
I feel bad keeping my surgery private
ArmyOfMe replied to B is starting the journey's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
As long as you share it with God and your soulmate, you have absolutely nothing to feel guilty or bad about. You do not owe anything anybody in that church. But ... You do owe it to yourself to pursue a healthy happy life. That's all anybody needs to know, that you are healthy and happy. How? It's nobody's business. -
What ya eating tonight?

Modified Sloppy Joes. -
I hope some of the RNY moms can share their experiences because I would like to know this, as well. I very much plan on breastfeeding my next baby when time comes.

You look great!

Ah yes, the boobie curse. Small, deflated and depressed. The Genie Bra is the comfiest bra I could find. I'm not even bothering wasting money on regular bras anymore. Right now, not worth it.

We are all different. Some have no problem digesting pills while others can't tolerate them. I prefer liquid form over pill. Though, I don't have much problems with pills, you never know what one pill one sudden day could do. I ain't that confident. If that medication can be switched to liquid version, you better believe it, I will not refuse it. In fact, I make sure to always ask my surgeon/RN or the RX before they fill/refill my prescription.

Ever feel like you'll never get there?
ArmyOfMe replied to GG'sArtsMom's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes, I harbor these thoughts. Completely normal. My biggest hope is to get down to 120# and stay at this weight for good. I am at the mercy of my body no matter how much I follow or un-follow the plan. I can want my 120# all day long if my body says otherwise. We shall see. -

You were beautiful pre-op, now you are H-O-T, hot!!! Looking good! Congrats and keep up the good work! -

I'm not going to tell you "it gets better". No, not yet. It's gets shittier before it gets better. Ride with it and follow the plan you were given. Good luck! -
What ya eating tonight?
ArmyOfMe replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm obsessed with feta cheese, green onions, radish and mini cucumbers. I could easily live off this stuff. I'm going gaga! -
I'm almost 5 months out and I am still constantly exhausted. At this point, even breathing is tiering. My only advice is lots of sleep. Give your body and mind a rest.

Should I go to the ER?
ArmyOfMe replied to MissNikki27's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congrats!!! Brown spotting at 6 weeks is normal. It's implantation bleeding. Your body is cleaning itself. -
Hopped back in jeans the first time I went out of the house post-op. You can always get a pair of maternity jeans. They have the elastic band at the waist instead of regular buttons and zipper. Those are the most comfortable jeans on planet Earth!

Never heard of the show. Sounds interesting.

What ya eating tonight?
ArmyOfMe replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday and today were my 'I'm a moron' days. I gave into homemade chicken Schnitzel and sopapillas. Didn't have much of it and luckily for MFP, I didn't cross over my cal limit at all. Still, moron move to eat fried. I'm over my Schnitzel craving now. -
In time you will be able to eat almost anything you used to have pre-op. It's all about choices. Some, intentionally stay away from bread and rice just because it's not a healthy choice compared to fruits, veggies, and you get the idea. If you want to give bread a try, look for wheat bread (personally, I cannot tolerate it due to getting stuck or sitting like a rock in my pouch) and for rice, look for brown rice. Much better than white rice. I do encourage you to follow your team's advice and stick with their plan.

DaVinci gourmet sugar free syrups
ArmyOfMe replied to terry1118's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Terry, I got the Sugar Free version of Hazelnut and Vanilla (you know, the safe choices) from Sam's Club. Not bad at all. Actually, I prefer it over the Torani syrup which to me lacked the flavor they were advertising. -

When and how often did you stall?
ArmyOfMe replied to AutumnPunkin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Statistics are going to give you numbers based on wide "testing" collected from various RNY patients. We do have these stall periods in common be it 2 weeks or a month. Still, I would keep them to the extent of what they are: statistics. Honestly, try to focus on yourself and making this tool your biggest success. Follow your Bariatric team's advice and learn discipline and good choices by logging your food and exercise. It will keep you grounded and accountable. Good luck! -
When did you get your stitches out
ArmyOfMe replied to Amanda R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine peeled off on their own close two weeks. I did not temper with my incision sites in any way. I just made sure to keep the areas clean daily. I had enough surgical wash leftover which helped keeping the incisions infection free.
