What ya eating tonight?
ArmyOfMe replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a cup of Lipton light chicken soup. Pouch liked it and did not bitch tonight. We're best buds again. -
Yeah, that's why I ended up in the April group and had to edit myself out. Haha Talk about being cookoo.

I am doing well, as well. My surgery was May 23rd and lost about 56lbs since. I am a slow loser and apparently also stalling atm but trying not to be a whiner and be grateful for my progress. I can eat anything in moderation and dumping is of no issue to me. Not planning on visiting Charlie and the chocolate factory either. =)) So glad to see all of you doing so good.

This group got so quiet and lost in the sea, I ended up in the wrong one, a month up. haha I knew I had surgery in May and not April. =)) How's everyone doing? What's for dinner tonight?

Junction City/Manhattan area here. Had my GBS in another state but will follow up with The Bariatric Center of Kansas City, Dr. Stanley Hoehn to be more precise. Should be interesting.

Friday Weigh-In!
ArmyOfMe replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm stuck at 186 lbs as well. It makes me sad when I see the same number on my scale. I know I should not feel this way and be grateful but it's emotional sometimes. -

What ya eating tonight?
ArmyOfMe replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am able to eat too much. Scary! But, I had 1 chicken cabbage roll in tomato sauce topped with sour cream (sprinkled unflavored protein powder), munched on fresh cherries throughout the day, half a protein bar and for dinner, I had light Lipton noodle soup with steamed carrots and a bit of hand shredded steamed chicken breast. I feel like it's too much for such a small pouch. Where the heck does it all go?! -
You might be a slow and steady loser. Give it time, it will come off. I know it's earlier said then done but don't lose faith.

I'm having the same issue. All I see in the mirror is piles of fat and lots of cellulite. Grateful for losing so much weight but wish I could see it. Could be so much worse, right?

April 2013 Post-Op Group

Wow! That is wicked scary. So glad you made out of it alive!!!!! -
Good luck! Welcome to the loser's bench.

Wow! Rare. Congrats! Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

My only hope and dream is to set a healthy example for my child/ren. They didn't need to grow up with a food addict and think it's normal to live for food only. Hell no!
-
Got in THURS before 6am and was discharged FRI late afternoon. I wouldn't let them kick me out any sooner then end of day. Not on my dime!
-
Yep, that's about right (we have the same surgeon).

What to wear home from surgery?
ArmyOfMe replied to punkin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you go in the Maternity section, most stores have the most comfortable T-shirts and pants (with strechy waist). The less the effort the better pain wise. Oh yeah ... I highly recommend comfy flip-flops. -
how did you tell friends and family.
ArmyOfMe replied to kracinski's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't care to share my WLS with the world. It's my personal experience and I keep it that way. With that said, my husband knows, my in-laws and my closest friend and her husband. I haven't even told my own mother, nor my sister because they wouldn't understand it and both would freak out. -
Not regularly but every couple of days to keep my colon from becoming a mountin of rocks. haha

How to get out of bed
ArmyOfMe replied to MGteacher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Elevate your upper body with a couple of more pillows (might be uncomfortable to sleep for a while until you get used to it but worth to beat up the pain), have a step stool at your side at all times and a cane. You can find a cheap reliable cane at any RX or store. Feel better soon.
