You will be fine. You are stronger than you think. Your mind will keep your engines running even when your body is tired. Just rest a lot and follow your health care providers advice. Good luck to you!

Trying wine for the first time
ArmyOfMe replied to erikaloftin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy anniversary! That said, yes, I tried wine from my husband's glass and it gave me headaches. So did beer. It's either too early or my alcohol tolerance has gone to hell for good. Meh ... No loss, no mourning. -
What ya eating tonight?
ArmyOfMe replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mac & cheese and a cup of mixed fruit from the kids menu at IHOP. Didn't finish the Mac but finished the fruit cup. -
After doing some research here and the other forum, I decided on the Nexplanon. I am feeling much more comfortable with having a foreign object in my arm rather than my vagina. It's a very personal choice and definitely varies by individual and what fits well for them. My only complaint with the implant is the pizza face and the never ending PMS during the first few months. Hormones are 10x more amplified with both RNY and new BC. Craaaazzzyy!

Why did you choose this site for support?
ArmyOfMe replied to MamboMan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was researching WLS at the time and since I am on other support forums (not related to weight loss), I knew real information and education would come from a WLS forum where people share their personal experiences. I also like to learn from others who have been through it for some time now. At the moment, I am both on here and TT. I love both forums equally --- each has something to offer, from amazing people and stories to vast amounts of information. -
What ya eating tonight?
ArmyOfMe replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today was Chilli's potato soup which I ended up sharing with my baby and husband. Couldn't eat more than a couple of spoons. As a snack, I had a couple of fresh cherries and my protein drink. Not too shabby. -
Weight loss from May surgeries
ArmyOfMe replied to janel129's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats, Mijpow. Awesome number! -
Pretty much what Jacqueline said. We had surgery one week apart with the same surgeon. I too had a stricture shortly after surgery. Same feeling: everything down my throat would get stuck, followed by cold chills, hyperventilating, pain, regurgitation. I was lucky as my stricture seemed to heal on its own. I still get the stuck feeling but not as aggressive. I blame myself for not paying attention to my eating technique. Good luck, though. Hopefully, they can do the scope and give you relief.

Diet coke & pre op diet
ArmyOfMe replied to lisalisalisa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a DP addict, as well. I would drink it like breathing oxygen. Man, do I miss it but the thought of an ulcer sure puts me in my place. I did cheat on my two week diet and had a can or two. Did not cause me any trouble with the surgeon nor the surgery. For the record: I do not encourage you to go over your Nut's advice/surgery requirements. -
Lovely number! Congrats on your hard work and accomplishment.

Wise man, I wish you the best of luck. I bet on success. Reading from your book of wisdom (that's what I call all your threads and posts) around here, I have no doubt, you know what you are doing. Oh yeah ... Cheese is my weakness. Call me a rat but I love it!

That was rotten of him. Next time, maybe you can heat up some broth in a bowl or some creamy soup and enjoy dinner with your family. I sure hope he's not going to chase you out of the dinner table like that ever again. Teach him respect --- you have earned it!

help after surgery..
ArmyOfMe replied to blueeyezz85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As everyone else, I too had lifting weight restrictions but mainly the first few weeks post-op. My biggest issue was the fear of not being able to lift my baby. I was a single parent at the time due to my husband being deployed and I went thru quite the predicament with the lifting restriction. Broke down in tears a couple of times too. Luckily, my surgeon allowed me to carry/lift my baby anytime as long as she would be on my chest and shoulders rather than my stomach or hips. I think, you will be fine as long as the kids don't jump on you, don't climb on you and such. You'll still be able to cook for them. -

Weight loss from May surgeries
ArmyOfMe replied to janel129's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, very normal. Your body is doing what it is supposed to do. I see stalling as a way for our bodies to take a break after massive weight loss. I would not worry. I am a slow loser, as well and currently at a stall in my journey. I'm not worried anymore because I know the weight will come off sooner or later. -
driving home right after surgery.
ArmyOfMe replied to Angi281's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are there any cab services in your area? Also, see with the hospital about driving options --- if they have a bus or something for patients in need of transportation help. Might cost but might be worth it. Also, if you are part of a local support group or seminar, ask the group if someone would be willing to pick you up if you pay them for the gas. Good luck, hope it works out for ya! -
So, what's everyone doing today? Any plans?
-
Such amazing progress, everyone. Good job!
-
Nope, not really. Then again, I went from eating a tub of butter on something to a tiny bit and from eating a cheese block in a day to now being able to eat only a thin slice of cheese.

Happy birthday Alaina!

Happy Birthday! -
Yep. The Bariatric multivitamins made it worse. I wish I had my Ninja mask with me all those times I had to leave the house.

Congrats! Enjoy your new life.
