I have been craving carbs and sweets and I am suppose to be on low carb until surgery next Wednesday...you guys have heard me whine about it for the last several days....However, I had forgotten that I had some little tablets I had purchased from Rite Aid Pharmacy called "Sweet Enders", no caffeine, no ephedra, etc, its like a mint that you let dissolve in your mouth....I believe its made of herbs....but to get to the point....tonight I was about to give in to my craving and decided to try them....it works....I believe it may be the little trick that will help me thru this journey...thought I would pass it along...maybe it can help some of you guys....

Today I had to send in my check to the Doctor (self pay) that has been a real motivator. If I am serious and going to spend all that money....I will make it....glad to hear from you....I see you have lost 20 lbs since surgery...has all that been post op or did you manageto lose a few pre-op...

When I talked to my Dr. about weight loss surgery...he wanted to put me on diet pills....I took my first at 15 and I am now 53...I don't want any more speed....normal sized people don't have a clue...I am so glad I found you guys..

You know I'm with you, Alatina....I am sure Kirstie Alley weighed more than 200 lbs or TV really does make you look bigger.... I love Oprah, but she said her highest weight was 234....I think she may be fudging a little....did any of you see "The Color Purple"

Scheduled to be banded on the 20th....having trouble with low carb pre op diet....I sure hope this works for me.....I have tried everything else .....

Would you guys tell me about your pre op diets....I am thinking about post poning my surgery....I am having trouble staying on a low carb diet...he didn't say low calorie...just low carb....I am hoping he means white sugar, white flour, white rice....it is so hard for me to give up my cereal in the morning.....please help....

I guess what throws me about the low carb before surgery is after surgery I will be required to eat "mushies" which included oatmeal, cream of wheat, mash potatoes which are all "carbs". I believe I am going thru refined carb withdrawal right now....my head feels like it is full of marbles and everytime they hit the side it hurts. I may try what you guys are doing with the high Protein shakes at least for one meal a day....maybe that will help....what kind of high protein shakes are you all drinking.....do they have sugar in them Thanks for the support...it is really hard for me to post...I'm kind of shy...however I don't have anyone I can talk to so thanks so much....

I am going to be banded on Wednesday July 20. The Doctor wants me to stay on a low carb diet until then....I find that even difficult....I am a serial dieter.....tired of loosing and then putting it on again...I feel this is my only hope....I hear the same thing you do....where is your will power.....if they haven't been there....they will never understand....I have to do this for me....I feel it is my last hope.....please hang in there......

I am planning on being banded by August....how does swimming effect the band....I would think it would be great exercise.....any comments would be appreciated....

Can anyone tell me about Dr. Spivak - is he any good at this - it seems like he has done many....please help....

Hi ! I am new to the board. Haven't been banded yet, thinking about....my problem is I love sugar....I don't overeat that much except for sugar....however I eat often....emotional thing ya de ya de ya....If I thought this surgery would make food a "mere acquaintance" I would do it in a heart beat....I will have to pay myself....need to loose about 75 lbs....I sure would like to have a new best friend...

Hi, I'm DeeJay, I am new to the forum. Thinking about having the surgery. I will have to pay my own way....my biggest concern...it like Wade....I am an emotional eater....would any of you...if you had to do it over again....would you not do it. deejay
